  1. Cost and performance wise the CVM2 range are excellent and I have two of the 12" 12CVM2 drivers for sale on here at the moment. In my opinion modelling Celestion Drivers perform better than they model. Without the ability to measure the response you are better sticking with @stevie's design.
  2. I find Mark Bass's use of colour (struggles for adjective) interesting. It proves that the rods and the cones in my eyes are still working but....... When you consider the style that has come out of Italy, you have to hope that the performance and reliability makes up for the visual onslaught. If you want to see how to use Orange tastefully, see Orange. On a more serious note, I have a Little Mark Tube in for repair. I cannot get any service information from them at all. Ashdown, Marshall, Peavey all great for help in servicing. Behringer are like Mark Bass, really hard to get help although their build quality is superb.
  3. To be fair that is a silly remark. I would not buy from BD and I prefer to make my own cabs.
  4. Well if BD are selling them I won't bother.
  5. A Yamaha bass guitar in black. The body is full gloss has some dings as does the back of the neck. The neck is Matt Black and easy to play. Plays well and truss rod is easily accessible at the bass of the neck with a standard Allen Key. It will be well packed in a twin skinned box an bubbly wrap. Postage and packing £10 or collect from Poole, Dorset. Add £5 and you can have the stand too.
  6. Beyma 12CVM2 driver suitable for use in @Phil Starr’s easy 30L cab build. A very similar driver to the Beyma SM212 but built on a pressed steel chassis rather than the cast aluminium of the SM212. Also works Well in @stevie‘s BC112 cabinet as if you don’t use the teeter and crossover.

  8. If it were a P Bass I wouild say Crimson, alternatively for a jazz, WD Music or Northwest Guitars.
  9. I don't know about the switching. The pickups may have been stock as Matsumoku pickups were very similar to DiMarzio aesthetically.
  10. Still no paid gigs on the horizon for us.
  11. I am sure that is by the Matsumoku company in japan, better known for Westone and the early Aria's. The shape is the Westone thunder shape and both the pickups and the brass bridge look like those fitted to the Westone/Aria basses.
  12. Sorry wrote a load of tosh so deleted.
  13. My first was a Squire Precision in CAR. It was a very good guitar and as I bought it SH in the mid 90s, I am not sure where it was made or how valuable it would be now. I sold it to buy a Thunder 1A. Wish I had not sold either.
  14. My local store, Absolute Music set up all the instruments on display. If a new instrument comes in it has a label saying that it is new in and yet to be set up by the in-store techs.
  15. Expensive strap but includes a great bass. 😁
  16. That neck is approx 38mm so more like a Jazz neck.
  17. Zemantics, they always go there when they have lost.
  18. you mean You mean you are still living? You have no right here, this is a zombie thread.
  19. Most modern amps have some kind of protection circuit and will cutout if over temperature or an over current is detected. It is perhaps a sign that the amp or cab has a problem. The other option is that you need a higher output amplifier.
  20. Be aware that you cannot use an instrument cable to connect the cabinets. The cable is nit designed to take the high currents involved and neither are most jack plugs. I can make you a cable or you can use some of the reputable companies online. To ensure you know that this is a speaker cable, I suggest a jack on one end and a Speakon on the other. Use either Neutrik, Cliff or Amphenol speakons and Neutrik Jacks,
  21. Nice work although the tone has little to do with the wood species used for the body. Mass of wood can vary enormously between samples of the same species. The neck wood has more influence than the body, obvious when you realise how much more neck is under the string than the body.
  22. Laney HH Studiomaster are all part of the same group.
  23. All they had to do was register for UK VAT. AliExpress did it months ago.
  24. Oh dear Mr Krow, now I will have to plug my B1-4 into my computiing machine once again. Thanks for sharing.
  25. +/2- is also used to 100V line systems, however that is unlikely to be found on a bass amp/speaker.
