I used to build custom flight cases and had just delivered one for the triple.
thats a really great photo. JPJ is a god to me. How was he??
You're not hijacking man, I'm all up for getting as much info as we collectively can! I just checked the PMT birmingham website and it looks like they have one in stock. I'll go down asap and check it out compared to the Bastard. It's looking like the Terror is the perfect head for me though, based on what I've heard. Should sound sick with my Sterling...
Nice one Duarte, could you PM with your findings, even if its just a copy of what you put in your thread (just incase I miss it). I now have a hankering for the orange rig!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

im really interested in the OBT too. I am using the markbass combo at present, however im sure my Ric is craving to go through some valves to give it the sound it deserves hahaha. Any input on the OBT would be great, mainly its presence and room filling capability with the SP210 cab. (hope im not hijacking your thread Duarte, just looking for info too brother)
Sing and play simultaneously every gig and miss it when I don't sing while playing. As others have said here, it's a skill that comes with practice. That said, I did find singing the lead vocal on the Chilli's Suck My Kiss a real challenge. Worked on it for months T
Hmmmm, now then, theres a challenge hahahaha. We have touched on that tune. I may try it out with tthe singing too.

i usually sing the likes of mollys chamber, hoochie coochie man, hard to handle, fire (hendrix) and foxy lady. Most times on these tunes the words fall on the beat and I think thats why its easier to sing them. I can in no way sing and play daytripper all the way through or good times bad times either. In no way am I a good singer, however I love singing so I do it in my band from time to time, although mollys chamber is a song thats always me that sings in out setlist woo hoo.
I really, really hate these stupid threads. I just don't see the point in them. Excuse me, but a guitar is tuned higher than a bass. How could a guitarist cover what you'd play on a standard 5 string bass ? I generally play low E at the 5th fret on the B string. I don't like moving down the neck to play F, F#,G,G# etc, so I play them at the 6th fret and upwards, it saves moving about. A 5 string bass is brilliant if you're reading a chart on a gig, you haven't got to move about so much, so you can play pretty much in one position and follow the chart. In other words I play across the neck, rather than up and down it. One band that I dep for plays a lot of songs where the bass line was originally played on keys, Chaka Khan's 'Aint nobody' for example, try playing that on a 4 string bass without a lot of messing about. It wouldn't work played up an octave either !
your shittin me sherlock,,,,the guitar is tuned higher than the bass, thats where ive been going wrong!!! I was only having a laugh matey and if these threads are so stupid says you,,,,,then why reply! Thats all im saying on the matter and hopefully you too.

you always need a new fuzz pedal, infact I know someone selling a dual tube distortion pedal
-
until such times i would see a 5'er being needed then im happy sticking with my 4's. If you cant do it with 4 strings,,,,then just try harder! or get your guitarist to do it hahahaha.

I am the proud owner of both the ric and Jag. love them both although I find the jag easier to play,,,this may be due to owning the jag for about 3 years and the ric for 3days hahaha. Both wildly different though, so try before you buy!

So this was my second bash. Man O man did my liver take a pounding. Im still not sure if ive sobered up yet!!! Some seriously good times was had over the weekend and it was great seeing everyone again. Managed to try a wide range of basses and finally managed to try a EUB, a fretless and a 5'er. It turns out im more suited to 4strings with frets Dave and Alan did another bang up job in getting this arranged and even though im sure we all thanked them at the time, a massive well done is sent out again to you guys. Not forgetting Alans wife sorting out some lovely home cooking too (although I was a little too rough to try any). You would think that after a weekend of bass I would come home and not even go near one,,,,,,,,,,,no chance, the Ric was amped up before I gave the family a kiss hello hahaha. To everyone at the weekend, you guys rule and I hope to see everyone at the next one. Cheers Steven
