1. Bump - need to move this on, car service is costing me a bomb!
2. I'm excited but no UK dates announced for the tour when I looked. Regardless, I want that hat!
3.
Hi is this for trade only. Thanks ☺
For now, I am gigging regularly and don't have another cab yet. May come up for sale if I get something.
4. That looks seriously cool! Leave the paint as is. Would love to see some photos of the workings.
5. Up for trade is my Barefaced Compact Gen1 with Roqsolid cover. Got this in Feb 2015 from jrixn1. Been my only cabinet for the last two years so has done a good number of gigs and rehearsals in that time. Condition is good and it works great, there are a few areas where the finish has been knocked off but has been painted over. I'm looking for a trade for a decent smaller cabinet, probably a 1x12. Happy to do some cash either way. Send me a PM instead of posting, had two deleted already, no idea who it was?! Specs on the BF website: http://barefacedbass.com/product-range/compact.htm Link to the previous sale thread: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/255280-barefaced-compact-l315-sold/page__fromsearch__1 Pictures to come
6. Bump! Photos added, apologies for the phone pictures.
7. Up for sale is my Aguilar Tone Hammer 500. I got this about a year ago off these parts from Lozz. It is in great condition, no big marks that I can see but has been gigged lots and has always been kept in the carry case for transport. There's no issues and the pots are all smooth. A great amp that has never missed a beat. My reason for selling is I've gone back to using my TD650 and I just love the EBS sound. You are more than welcome to drop by and try the amp, I am located in Hemel Hempstead, just off J8/M1. Some specs from the website:

Power: 500 Watt @ 4 Ohm, 250 Watt @ 8 Ohm
Controls for Gain, Drive, Mid Frequencies, Mid Level, Bass, Treble, Master Volume
Pre/Post Switch DI
Connections: DI Out, Effect Loop, Tuner Out and 2x Speakon outputs
Dimensions (W x D x H): 27.3 x 21.6 x 7 cm.
Looking for £450 posted or £430 collected. 8. I have just replaced the strings on my new u-bass. I used the Aquilar Thundergut strings, got mine on Amazon. They feel like the supplied strings and sound pretty good, though mine is a fretless so will be a bit different. The bridge end of these strings are pre-tied. However the headstock end is a pain, spent the last two days trying to get the E string to stay in the tuner.
9.
They really are fantastic basses aren't they - and at any price IMHO. I've added a switchable active circuit to mine which makes it more versatile but keeps the character of the sound intact and chrome covers purely for looks but I gigged it un-modified very happily for a good while.
Which circuit did you add? As much as I love this bass a bit more versatility would come in handy.
10. I should be able to come, probably armed with my Alpher Instruments 5'er, Squier VM P-bass 5'er, Aguilar TH500 and Barefaced Compact (Gen 1).
11. Hadn't noticed that! Whoops Happy fake sale day!
12. Hi all, Firstly I'd like to state that I am not affiliated with Eden or Andertons in any way. Also if I am breaching the rules of the forum, I am sorry and am happy to remove this post. Had an email through from Andertons stating that all Eden bass products are at 50% while stocks last, I know there is some good gear there so wanted to share. See the link below. http://blog.andertons.co.uk/bass-guitars/save-over-50-on-eden-amps?utm_campaign=150729AugustDeals&utm_source=emailCampaign&utm_medium=email&utm_content= Have fun, Stephen
13. I like the idea of a drummer toasting setup, something like a forward facing 2x12 but with an extra 12 on the left side in the upper half of the cab to drummer toast. Built in power amp with different volume controls for the two directions.
14. Thank you everyone for the advice, I had a chance to open it up the other day and have a look. To my untrained eye everything looks in good order, all the wires are kept away from the speakers, the solder joints look good and both speakers are moving freely without any noise. Also a side note, these cabs seem to be very well put together, took me an age to get round all the screws to open it up. Unfortunately I'm not very handy with a soldering iron so I didn't want to go de-soldering the speakers to test them individually. I am going to be taking it to my local shop and hopefully they can point me in the right direction. P.s I am now the proud owner of a Barefaced Compact to tide me over until I get this repaired!
15.
The moral of this story is don't get rid of the cab.......get rid of the guitarist.
We have one of the rare guitarists who you have to tell to turn up, I'm quite thankful of this.
16.
I. too, would also be quite concerned about how you could blow a 212 cab..!!! That cab should be rated 500w at least...and I think it is a poor show if its blown. I'd be tempted to think, just unlucky with a duff unit, but it would also make me lose confidence in the quality of units they use..?? Depends what amp you run with it, but I wouldn't look at a 15 if 2x12 aren't man enough..??
I'm concerned for my hearing too if I'm blowing speakers. As I said, I didn't think I was that loud, in both my bands I just use my cab for monitoring and most of my volume comes from the PA. I've got some time today to pull it apart and have a look, thanks for the pointers. It must be a faulty unit which really knocks my confidence in the brand and what they use.
17. As the title says I think I've just blown a speaker in my TC Electronic BC212, lots of buzzing when I play. I've tried a new cable, different bass and another amp all resulting in the same thing. I didn't think I pushed it that much but I guess I have done some damage somehow. Anyway, does anyone know what the speaker is and if I can get one to fix said cab? I am also thinking if one cab wasn't "man" enough already I'm only going to do it again. I have been looking for an excuse to change my cab and this seems like the right one. Can people recommend a cabinet for me, I have a budget of £500ish but I do need it to handle some use of a low B and also some Octaver. As with a lot of people asking this I'd prefer it to be lightweight and not massive. Speaker size doesn't matter to me and it can be a single or pair of cabs. Thanks all.
18. My iPad/iPhone is not too bad but my laptop touch pad doesn't agree, have to use my little finger a lot.
19. My main band (pub covers) now in their 9th year have 58 gigs this year with more being added, then my soul band have 21 so far. Pretty busy year for me, I think I did about 80 gigs last year with various bands. Not bad going considering I'm taking August off for a honeymoon. The drummer who books all the gigs has also got both bands 4 gigs for 2016 already! I don't know what I'm doing tomorrow, let alone next year!
20. I think the Alpher Instrument guys are using them. Probably worth dropping them a message.
