1. Hi all, Established Hertfordshire based 8-piece soul band are looking for a keen and experienced player to take over on bass duties towards the end of the year. Covering a wide range of northern soul, stax and RnB music. Paid gigs booked into 2025 already with more dates being added. Contact me on here for more details. Edit - Thanks all who got in touch, position is now filled.
2. Hi all, We're a 4-piece Herts-based covers band and have been together in various formats for about 16 years. (Guitar, bass, drums, keys) In an average pre-covid year we'd do approx 30 gigs and play in a mix of pubs and clubs. (Our next gig is in mid-March so we are hoping, possibly ambitiously, that we might have somebody in place for that.) The stuff we do spans the 60s to the present day. We do a varied set with a heavy nod to the 80's and 90's but are always looking to expand our repertoire. Here is a link to some of our limited recordings during lockdown last year https://youtube.com/user/TheNatalies1 Most rehearsals are either in Welwyn Garden City or Stevenage depending on availability. Please get in touch with Paul via email [email protected]
3. A beautiful Alpher up for sale, wish I had the money. I love mine and whoever this goes to is bound to fall in love too.
4. Bumping, sale fell through so still up for grabs.
5.
Still available ?
On hold at the moment
6.
Anyone see the fairly recent one with his new Fender Mustang? That TONE man!
Don't, I thought I had got over wanting one of those.
7. Hi all, I'm looking to sell my Novation Mininova synth. Great little synth with lots of preset sounds. I purchased this for a project that fell through. It has been used a handful of times and taken out the house once for a rehearsal so is in perfect condition. Comes in the box with a USB, power cable and gooseneck microphone for the vocoder function. Can also be used to track midi and control a DAW and powered via USB. Sale price is £280 collected for Hemel Hempstead. I can ship it to the UK for about £20. Might be interested in trades but I am looking for either a Darkglass Vintage Ultra or Two Notes LeBass. Drop me a message if you want any more info. All the specs can be found here: https://global.novat...ynths/mininova#
8. Hi all, I'm having a big clear out of pedals I have accumulated over the years. All have been used in a gigging situation so will have marks and dings from this. I don't have the boxes for any of them but will find suitable packaging for postage. Postage will be £10 each but can group together if multiples are purchased. Drop me a message, I might be up for trade but am mostly looking for a Darkglass Vintage Ultra or a Two Notes LeBass. Bright Onions AB Looper - £20 A great little switcher pedal with two effects loops, can be used with or without a power supply. Behringer Bass Synthesizer - £20 Clone of the Boss Bass Synth, can get some very interesting synth effects, also has a parallel out for dry bass signal and expression pedal input. Vox Satchurator - £30 Joe Satriani signature overdrive with Vox, with a boost function built in. Great with guitar, have not tried with bass. Morley Mini Wah - £50 Mini Wah pedal, a lot more pedalboard friendly than other brands. Has a volume control to counteract the volume drop usually found with wah pedals. Electro Harmonix Echo1 Delay - £70 Great digital delay/echo pedal. Can't get a super long delay but great effects from it. Joyo British Overdrive - £20 Joyo's attempt at the Tech21 amp emulators. Does a good job of getting that British amp drive sound with lots of EQ control. TC Electronic MojoMojo - £35 TC's overdrive, works well with bass and guitar. Also has a bass boost/cut switch. Electro Harmonix Little Big Muff - £40 Non-bass version of the Little Big Muff, great for those super fuzz sounds. Zoom B1X - £30 Good multi effects from Zoom. Has an expression pedal which can control different parameters. Good pedal for you to try out effects for the first time.
9. I stumbled across these the other week and have enjoyed most of them. As you say, it too has inspired me to pick up my bass. Did you catch the pedal one? Very cool but not helpful for my gas, I now want a meatbox and bitcrusher!
10. I use one of these: http://www.diago.co.uk/pedal-power/diago-micropower9.html Great small power supply and it works great with the 6 pedals I have on my board. Cheap too
11. If you look bag through his vlog he built a pedalboard a couple weeks back and explains his sound there. That included the baby elephant sound.
12. Don't know what the guy was thinking with this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292015662978 Looks like it was once a 10 stringer that was converted with very little effort.
13. Just sold Richard my Barefaced Compact. Cracking guy to deal with, good comms and quick payment. Enjoy!
14. Had a very drunk woman and equally offensive partner shouting "play some f***ing Rod Stuart!" in the singers face last night between every song in the second set. If you want a jukebox just go to a pub with one rather than a live band!
15. Agreed, it's not normally what I'd listen to them for but I'll give it a chance. Album is out on the 31st March so not long. I do need that hat!
16. The title track has dropped on YouTube http://youtu.be/rmlmOk4ubcU
17. I can recommend giving this video a watch. They get pretty close, however the budget is pretty high. http://youtu.be/I2tNAXPczMk
18. Had a go through one of these the other day with the matching 4x10. Was really impressed, I used to think that Ashdown were woolly lumps but this had a real crisp-ness and bite. A little bottom heavy, but roll off the bass control and that was tamed. Lots of volume on tap. Well worth trying. This was at guitarguitar in Epsom btw, good shop and the staff were friendly.
