1. Sounds like a good day out to me, I shall see if anyone else form the Hemel area fancies coming with me. Any idea what the cost will be yet?
2.
My understanding is that "Early bird" was the name given to those tickets that were purchased before November 12 2012. They don't allow you to get into the show any earlier than anyone else. (Mine's one of those too.)
I feel a bit stupid now! Anyway see you guys there
3. Hey, I will be there on the Saturday, managed to get an early bird ticket for Christmas. Any idea what time the early birds are allowed in? It doesn't say on the website or tickets!? Would be good to meet up with a few people, will pop along to the BC stand to say hi.
4. I would recommend going Bass > DBX > Sansamp > LM (input) > tuner out to korg That way the compressor is first and the Sansamp shapes the tone after that, with my experience of the LMIII it doesn't colour your tone so shouldn't spoil the Sansamp.
5. I have thankfully left the band that done Sweet Home Alabama at every gig! My word I'd rather dip my nuts in boiling fat than play that again. I now have to play Girls On Film and Dakota which are boring.
6. This is an awesome bass, love the sound and feel. Whoever gets this is in for a treat.
7. Ok I can't get the pictures to upload but here are the links. Here is the new "mini" rig and my normal rig for comparison. http://i1343.photobu...zps574e40a8.jpg

NCD!

Hi guys, Was lucky enough yesterday to pick up a new cab! An TC Electronic BC212, really had no intention of buying anything just went to collect a speaker being repaired for the band and had a little jam on this cab and come home with it. It sounds great and it's really lightweight, used it for a gig that night and it held its own, really punchy sound. I'm struggling to get pictures up at the moment so I shall post them tomorrow.
9. Got mine running through a MarkBass 152 Standard. Has a massive low end on it and its a one man lift into the car. I do fancy a MarkBass 4x10 for the smaller venues
10. Would love to buy but don't have the money bump! I do have an Ibanez SRX305 I could trade?
11. After snooping round these forums for a couple of months I thought I should introduce myself. My name is Steve, I'm based in Hemel Hempstead. I play bass like a few of you on here, I've been playing for about 8 years now. Most of the time I have just been playing in church and little projects that never really go anywhere. In the last two years I was the bassist in a covers band called The Duvets. I recently changed bands to The Natalies, again another covers band. I enjoy most styles of music but my favourite to play are soul, funk and disco. During the week I have a 9-5 as an environmental engineer. My rig is: Ibanez SR505 MarkBass LM3 MarkBass 152 Gear is my biggest weakness, I love shiny new basses and amps. I'm currently looking out for a new bass to purchase after Christmas along with a smaller cab for those tightly packed gigs. If anyone wants to chat/meet/jam/give me stuff I'm always up for it. Thanks for listening!
12. I had a good day. Tried out a couple of those Volume Eleven basses and was very impressed for a new company and I like the new shape they have. It was just a long way to go for the lack off bass manufacturers. Was good to see lots of new and smaller brand luthiers at the show.
13. I got an SRX305 about 6 years ago and it was a great instrument, granted the neck was quite wide it still played and sounded good. My main gigging bass now is a 2008 SR505 i got three years ago and the neck is a lot slimmer and I love it, light weight and makes a 3hour set a breeze! Also they look great when the finish wears off, gives it a proper road worn look
14. I bought an SR505 about 3 years ago, got it out the box and tuned up, that's how it has been ever since. I have changed the strings every few months, it plays great still. Once you've got it set up it wil last ages, and look forward to playing it in
15. If I had the money I would snap this up straight away, interested in anything to trade?
16. Talking to people is always the best way. I started going to jam nights about 3 months ago, since then I have been to a few auditions and had many offers to join bands. I have currently got an audition planned for this week and another band are wanting me to gig regularly with them. I never said to them I was looking for work.
17. Hi, I've just left a rock covers band, live in Hemel, have a car, rig and PA. My backing vocals are alright, I have dropped you an email.
