1.
Still a helluva looooong time to not get a response, and even though you have not 'spat the dummy' so to speak, a friendly and well constructed letter to customer services re: response times may well be in order.
To be honest I don't think that this would do any good! If it takes the MD, (who imho is supposed to set an example to his employees), over 3 weeks to respond and in fact he didn't respond it was only my calling him that got the response!! What chance of getting some kind of acknowledgement from customer services any quicker We'll just have to see what happens next week.....tune in for what I hope is the final installment!!
2.
That's great news Fingers crossed that either bass is all you want it to be !!
Thanks!! Yeah I hope so too, it's been a long saga But the ydid say that if I wasn't happy with either of them then they would try to arrange something else. I just hope that we don't have to go there!! All will be revealed early next week I hope!!
3. Things are a foot in Peavey land and there maybe a positive conclusion and an end to my saga is nigh..........I wait with baited breathe. News of the outcome to follow shortly I hope!!!! Update: Peavey have been extremely helpful ove this and maybe I might have been a bit hasty with some of my comments over this saga! For which I appologise.... now where's that portion of humble pie I was saving for occasions like this?? The latest is Peavey got a whole bunch of Cirrus down from their warehouse and have found 2 that are a near match to my original, they've emailed me pics, and early next week they are sending both down for my perusal. So hopefully early next week this will be wrapped up warm and put to bed with it's teddy bear, and I'll be a happy camper again!!
4.
£349 I think is about £100 over priced. However. Supply is short so you may have to wait a little to get it for about £250 http://www.zingsmusic.com/product_info.php?products_id=5176 http://www.normans.co.uk/Items/Item.aspx?SKU=edb-3/4mbk I think you can buy them at other places also.
I thought that, but my "source" has got one in stock whereas Zings and Normans haven't and when speaking to them they said they have them on order but there is no guarantee of getting one because the ones they are getting are on order, and they are unsure as to when they are getting a delivery Plus they had no idea as to when they are likely to get another delivery There again I can't understand how Zings and Normans can do them for this cheap price because when I spoke to a local store he said that the Stagg list price was around £300 I think it was, and he couldn't do it cheaper than £369. He also said that Stagg where a bit ticked off with stores selling their products off so cheaply too!
5. Thanks for all your replies, I appreciate your input!! I think I might have tracked an elusive Stagg down, been doing a bit of deer stalking I'm not going to say where but the price is £349, (which I can't really afford at the moment!!), and I was wondering if this was a good price?? Oh and it's a violin burst one too!!!
6. QUOTE (Bassworm @ Apr 22 2008, 06:18 PM) * Well, the NS CR4M has become available again. Anyone interested? Is the price the same as was?
Certainly is.
If I had 900 squids I would take this off your hands but alast my funds can't stretch anywhere near that. I've been let down on a nice EUB recently A guy I know said his wife was selling her EUB at a decent price because she doesn't use it and it just sits in the kitchen gathering dust then he spoke to her about my interest and she virtually trebled the price he quoted me, for only reasons that are known to her!! Even this guy couldn't understand her reasoning But I wish you well with the sale and have a bumpy one on me
7.
I used to own a Dean Pace which I enjoyed playing fingerstyle but it isn't designed to be bowed as others pointed. I currently have an NS Design CR5M. If your funds can stretch to an NS-Design Bass Cello. Don't let the word cello put you off - it is a bass. It has the same scale as a Bass guitar (like the Pace) but can be bowed and can be played upright on a stand or horizontally on a strap.
How much do the NS' go for roughly and any ideas where I might be able to get one? I'm located near to Portsmouth
8. Thanks for the replies I appreciate it!! Anybody had any success with a bow and the Stagg? I had a DB lesson with my tutor and I loved it, but haven't got the room for the "real" thing so I thought an EDB would be a good substitute! And reading the success you guys have had with the Stagg it has wetted my appetite for them and I hope to get one, that's if I can find somebody that's got one in stock
9. I am contemplating on entering the world of EUB. But I was wondering if it was possible to play the Stagg whilst seated in a "conventional" manner across your lap like a normal electric, or can you lower the leg so that it can be played whilst seated? The reason I ask is I've got a disability with my legs and I can't stand for too up long without feeling severe discomfort in my legs. Can you play the Stagg with a bow too?? Another consideration I was looking at because of the scarcity of the ol' Stagg's was a Dean Pace EUB and I was wondering the same points about this model too, I.E. can it be played seated and with a bow?? Or does anybody know of an EUB around the similar price range that you can suggest that might fill my requirements? Thanks
10. Now that's a sexy bit of kit, beautiful wood me likes a lot  If only it was a 5er then I would have bitten your hand off!! Good luck with the sale
11. I love my Tascam, I love all of it's features and the fact that it's portable. I''ve taken mine with me when I've been to lessons and cranked it up with some wierd effect and the reactions have been spectacular You see the faces turn and look at you and they all say what's that and I've got to get me one of those!! What's your favourite feature on the unit?? Anybody got any good tips/tricks which they have come across too??
12. I also charge mine via USB, but I've got a multi power adaptor that I got from Argos Multi Adaptor I got it for Christmas to power my old multi effects unit. But it goes down to 5 volts and comes with different sized "ends" for different appliances, and it works well for me and I haven't had a problem with it yet....touch wood lol I hope this helps?
13. sh******te, man I would love this!!! It's a pity you're right up north, do you have a case for it??
14. well it's been over 2 and 1/2 weeks since I sent a letter of complaint about my treatment over this bloody bass to Clive Roberts, MD of Peavey UK and I STILL haven't received any response, not even a letter of acknowledgement to mine, not a bloody sausage I was wondering how long do you guys think I should leave it before I really throw my teddy out of my pram?? What do you think my next move should be to try and get some form of closure on this?? I was thinking of writing to Bass guitar magazine about my troubles, any thoughts??
15. check this out MIM Jazz Only one small problem though it's a 5 string And you will have to import it from the states too
16. check this out MIM Jazz Only one small problem though it's a 5 string
17. Thanks for the advice guys!!
18. I know this might be a bit of dumb question to ask but if you want to replace a bridge and the screw holes on the new one don't match up with the old one can you move it forward or backward to fix the new bridge? Will this have an adverse effect on the intonation at all? Plus does anybody know how difficult/easy is it to convert your bridge into a string through body type bridge system? Would this need to be done by a luthier or can you do it yourself?
19.
That's what I figured... My original intention was to post this as a freak show in it's own right, then clocked the title of your post. Didn't want to not make the offer, though. I've since had a look under the (aluminium..?) scratchplate, and while there are 2 pots and a jack socket, I'm not confident that they actually do much. KotS
Thanks for the thought, maybe deep down will want a crack at it!! The neck looks a bit ropey too Amazing what you can find at the whole boot sale though if you're prepared to hunt.
20. I wanted a cheap bass to kill myself not one that needs resurrecting from the dead from the start.....LOL. It's a nice project for someone but I'll pass this time thanks for the offer though. Anyway I think that I might have bagged myself a cheap 5 string that Wullapache is flogging so I'm happy!!
21. There's a video review here Bassplayer TV Review This sounds really quite good, me like!!
