Certainly, our guitarist, drummer and myself would not want to play through/on other equipment, it's our gear that gives us [u]our[/u] sound, we have invested some serious money into our gear, so why play through something that may sound inferior. It's good fun, enjoy it.

Can also help a novice drummer keep the rhythm too.[/quote] Sacrilege Sir, If the guitarist cannot manage to get a "big or dirty" sound and has nothing but a "thin and weedy" sound, I personally would not attempt to play the song. The guitar riff is fairly simple, made up of an A chord with an inverted D chord plus getting the right feel.

I have been offered a job as second/depping bassist for a band who play covers to a very high level i.e exact as the songs were recorded. It will probably involve up to twenty gigs a year so its well worth doing and I really like the material. What worries a bit, is that I need to learn all the set in my own time but only have the opportunity of one rehearsal with the band before going out playing live with them. I know I have the competence to play the songs to the level they require but I don't think I would feel comfortable only having the opportunity to rehearse once with the band before going out live. I have seen some bass players in bands absolutely destroy this classic by playing their bass over the guitar riffs in the verses, really naff. The bass only comes in on the chorus and during the guitar solo, it gives you time to have a sip of drink during the verses.

It's certainly not [u]very simple[/u] - try playing it note perfect with his feel.

Our bass player worked it out years ago, some of the runs are difficult on a 4 string, best done on a 5 string to try and replicate the sound.

Two guys in our band have endorsements. Jeff the drummer is endorsed by DW Drums. Steve the guitarist is endorsed by Cornell Amps. I'm not sure what type of deals they are on, the only thing I see is on our band posters which feature DW and Cornell.
