I did my 2nd gig on Saturday and followed all of your advice and it was much better, thank you. I had spent the week learning "Brown Eyed Girl" and just about nailed it. Then on the night just as I was going to get my 10 seconds of glory with the short lead part, the singer forgot where we were and starting singing just as I was going to break out! Cor Blimey I was upset. Anyway, another gig in 2 weeks time and with luck I will get more confident as I do them. Thanks again Mike

I have taken on board everything that has been said and I will certainly be looking forward to the next one in two weeks. Played my first gig last night as a bass player. Absolutely terrifying but also enjoyable. We played from 7.30-11.00 and I was shattered. I was given a song list of over 40 songs two weeks ago and had to busk them all, happy days!!!!!!!!! I managed to keep my timing and hit the roots so the future looks rosy. Has anybody got any advice for a beginner please to make it easier. Thanks Mike

Hello Jerry You are spot on there mate, I don't need a P Bass but I did want it so of course I had to have it but do you know, I don't think it is a patch on my L-2000 Tribute. I know I shouldn't say it and I am only a beginner but to me the G&L looks better, sounds better and I think plays better. Never mind, it looks nice hanging on the wall. best wishes Mike

Hello to you all. Can you help me please? I keep reading about flat wound strings. Are they better, and do they make a difference in the sound of the bass? Why do people prefer them? Sorry all basic stuff but I am that new to the bass. Thanks Mike

Nice one Jerry. I still haven't fully got to grips with mine yet, and, I am still a very beginning bass player, although a complete convert and really hope to get in a band one day. I am currently interested in a Fender USA P Bass Deluxe. Do you think it is worth spending the dosh on it or will the L-2000 do the job just as well. best wishes Mike

Hello Jerry Let me know how you get on with the L2000 after gigging it. I had to look at a video as well because I couldn't work it out. I am really new to the bass and found all of the switches confusing but think I have got them sorted now. I am just learning Mustang Sally and it seems to suit it very well.
