  1. Hold Me - P J Proby / Maggie Bell & B A Robertson
  2. This. For me it's usually a few bars of improvised noodling ending with Fleetwood Mac's 'The Chain' as the route back into the song
  3. Crawling From The Wreckage - Dave Edmunds Rockpile / Graham Parker
  4. Silver Threads and Golden Needles - The Springfields / Linda Ronstadt
  5. Best wishes to your wife and your dad for full and speedy recoveries. Do not forget to look after yourself Bass_dinger. Take it easy. Chris
  6. Outstanding, I'll be 'playing' along to this later on this week.
  7. From Deep Purple - Made In Japan Ian Gillan - "Can I have a bit more monitor if you've got it?" Anon (Off-mic) - "We want everything louder than everything else." Ian Gillan - "Ha ha yeah, can we have everything louder than everything else."
  8. Colosseum - Live (1971), and the 1994 Colosseum reunion concert in Cologne. Extremely Live at Birmingham Town Hall - Chris Farlowe, Spencer Davis, Pete York, Miller Anderson, Colin Hodgkinson and Zoot Money As well as many of those already listed above. Chris
  9. Never was a ABBA fan (I like maybe 4 or 5 of their songs) but I appreciate that they were something a bit special - and gave a lot of pleasure to lot of people. However, I reckon the recent publicity photos in the papers make them look like characters from Disney's 1982 movie - 'TRON'. Chris
  10. An interesting thread with a lot of information, maybe something to consider in the future. So this is probably a daft question, but are the enclosures (RCF. HeadRush, QSC etc) mentioned in many of the preceding posts intended primarily for PA use? Or are they really 'all things to all men' ? Chris
  11. The Same Old Story - Taste (Rory Gallagher)
  12. Excellent programme on right now about The Band and their second album 'The Band'. Really good. Chris
  13. Hi Mr Telebass - your post made made me stop for several seconds and offer up an incantation of gratitude to whichever deity is keeping an eye on my health and well-being. Having just turned 69 (and still gigging) it was also a timely reminder to think about the right way to lift and move my own gear. I wish you well for the future sir. Chris
  14. Still a splendid site with a thoroughly nice community. Thanks BC
  15. Maybe I am missing something, but wouldn't it be better to have the BASSCHAT banner at the top of the page instead of 'Why Become A Member' and 'Aaaand we're back'. Chris.
  16. I Ain't No Mountain - Budgie (but written by Andy Fairweather-Lowe I believe)
  17. I don't regard Deep Purple as a 'Heavy Metal' band at all. I do think that the Mk II Deep Purple line-up (Lord , Blackmore , Paice , Gillan & Glover) was one of the finest Rock Bands, irrespective of genre. To my ears - 'In Rock' and 'Machine Head' remain first class studio 'rock' albums - and 'Made In Japan' is the definitive live 'rock' album.
