ON HOLD Really nice black Washburn acoustic bass, spruce top with mahogany back and sides. Currently strung with flatwounds which sound awesome but I have a set of light bronze acoustic bass strings that I can include. No case I'm afraid. Has a couple of dings but otherwise great condition, it's just not getting much use as I find it easier to practice with headphones plugged into my amp head. Can't really gig in a hard rock band with an acoustic bass... More specs and a picture here: http://www.washburn....oustic/ab10.php [s]£200[/s] £180 collected from Bury st Edmunds or can meet half way anywhere up to 40 miles, so that includes as far away as Norwich, King's Lynn, Huntingdon, Chelmsford, Harlow.... May be interested in trades for something suitably 4 stringed, multi-pickup-ed and "RAWK!" let me know what you've got.

Crikey! Looks like a nice bit of kit for the money. Will be following this. I've always wanted to do one of these...

Pics or it's not happening. It sounds like Heath is going out of his way to make sure you're happy too, which is really great. I hope you get that D string sorted so you can focus on being properly happy with this. Maybe the Utility Bass should have had adjustable pole pieces

Death of the pub, interesting read
allighatt0r replied to skidder652003's topic in General Discussion
I've seen it happen to pubs we've played in. Pubco's put in terrible landlords over and over again after manufacturing a reason to kick out the previous landlady who had been running the pub successfully for many years. Pub is now looking like it could be closed any time now. -
Would something like this serve the purpose you need?
That's unusual, both myself and a guitarist in one of the bands I play in use the G30. He regularly takes trips pretty far from the stage... Even playing outside the pub on the street. Do you have the receiver tucked in somewhere well hidden, maybe?
I have the receiver on the floor, next to my amp and next to my TC PolyTune. I did have a big fan next to it on Friday, which may have made the difference there, but that fan was other side of the stage on Saturday night. I also tried moving the receiver to the top of the amp but it didn't seem to make a great deal of difference. Maybe I need to get a bit scientific in the back garden, test the actual line of sight distance that I get and then call Line 6 support with my findings.
the line 6 g30 looks good, anyone got one?
Yep, I got one recently, and have done three gigs with it this weekend. The sound quality is excellent, no loss of bass or top or tone. Two AA duracell batteries lasted two and 3/4 gigs (changed them during second set last night to be on the safe side when the battery indicator on the receiver went down to 1 bar). I'm a little disappointed by the range to be honest. Had visions of buggering off to the other end of the pub, but it managed about 30 feet on Friday, and 50 or 60 feet last night before cutting out. Mine might be a bit of a duff unit though, as the guitarist has a g30 and never has any trouble.

I have an very odd feeling that I've seen this bass before....

A green bass. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/209972-ruach-utility-bass/page__view__findpost__p__2256504

I learn on a Milestone three. That's an OK price for one, they are plywood bodies and pickups are pretty rubbish.
-
I was just being nosey rather than saying the pick ups should be green as well! Reading my post back, it does look like I'm urging you for an all green bass, sorry about that. "I want a green bass" should really be "I want a green bass of my own!"

I was sacked from my band of 4 or 5 years last November (via facebook message... ). I've recently joined a band doing much bigger and better things. Blessing in disguise!

How do I get tone knob on my Precision to actually do something?
allighatt0r replied to thebrig's topic in General Discussion
Avoid troubleshooting the problem and send KiOgon a PM. Have him send you a P Bass wiring loom and then stick it in your P. His wiring kits are fantastic, and the Tone knob will actually do something! -

That's a really nice green, I like the way it shows off the figuring in the wood. It's going to grow on you. Like moss. The drummer I play with has drums that colour! Are the pickups going to be green too or are they staying "au naturel"? I want a green bass.

Wow. Where do you source these awesome basses? I love the Arias. -
When I have some spare pennies I have every intention of getting a third BC212... Muahahaha!
Yeah, I did think of that, too late after I'd ordered the speakon-only plate, I may order some and rewire it at some point.. Would also solve the problem of what to do with the 1/4" hole created by the switchcraft jack, which I'll have to plug when I'm using a speakon lead.
You could just plug it with one of these? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Adaptor-Premium-Quality-Headphone-Adapter/dp/B002JP6JEK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1382087462&sr=8-1&keywords=jack+converter

I like the look of those screw holes under the pickup mounts. Will this mean no hopeless foam/springs under the pickups trying to push them back up against the screws? How did you end up with that body shape by the way? You referenced it shortly at page one but it looks like it's changed quite a bit since then?
