  1. So… I treated myself to this a couple of weeks ago. After an initial wobble where I was tempted to move it on I have decided it is likely a keeper. Super lightweight at just over 3 kg and just about the best neck I have ever had the pleasure of playing. It does quite a nice P bass impression with the neck pickup and a decent Stingray impression with a little bridge pickup rolled in… And as for the wood choices… ♥️♥️
  2. Andy just bought a gig bag from me. Super easy guy to deal with, an absolute pleasure thanks Andy
  3. Hey, Thanks Mike I don’t want to post at this stage… I don’t have anything big enough to package it in and I am guessing from recent dealings with the post office that the cost would be prohibitive.
  4. Up for sale is a lightly used TGI Ultimate gig bag. It is in great condition and only around 12 months old. There is some light scuffing to the logo on the front and a couple of marks inside but purely cosmetic Collection from Leicester preferred although am happy to meet up within reason **Am away for a few days from Wednesday**
  5. Up for sale is a really beautiful Sadowsky Modern 4-24 featuring Akume body with AAAA Claro Walnut top, roasted alpine maple C shaped neck, ebony fingerboard with 12” radius, Sadowsky soap bars and pre amp. It is in outstanding condition, there is barely a mark on it (I actually can’t see any) There is a small amount of fret wear (pictured) but nothing that affects play and would be removed in a matter of minutes by a decent tech. The weight is 3.2kg so ridiculously light and it balances absolutely perfectly on the strap. The only thing that I can pull it up on is a small indentation to the inside of the electronics compartment lid that does affect the shielding contact. I use a small piece of foil to bridge the gap as a cheap solution however the ideal thing would be to buy a new cover which are available through Warwick. Not a biggie but would rather be up front. Original gig bag, tools, leather strap and paperwork all included. Collection from Leicester welcome and payment with bank transfer or Paypal friends and family Blurb from Sadowsky below… Sadowsky MetroLine 24-Fret Vintage Bass • only 100 pcs. worldwide (4- and 5-string combined) • right-hand version • 4-string electric bass, 34" (864 mm) long scale • sleek undersized J-Style body with deep cutaways, AAAA Figured Claro Walnut top, Okoume body • bolt-on Roasted Alpine Maple neck (C shape), Ebony fingerboard, dot inlays, 12" fingerboard radius • Sadowsky Just-A-Nut III nut, 1.5" (38.5 mm) nut width, 24 nickel silver frets (0.094" (2.4 mm) x 0.051" (1.3 mm)), Invisible Fret Technology (IFT) • passive Sadowsky Jazz pickup in classic Jazz, passive Sadowsky Soapbar pickup in 60s Jazz position bridge • active Sadowsky 2-way electronics (bass and treble boost) with Vintage Tone Control (VTC), controls for Volume / Balance / Vintage Tone Control (P/P) / Treble and Bass (stacked), push/pull function at VTC knob for preamp bypass • electronics compartment with easy access cover, Sadowsky Light machine heads with open gear, Sadowsky S-security locks, Sadowsky bridge with quick string release, black hardware • Sadowsky Blue Label .045 - .105 strings • Natural Transparent Sa5n finish • weight max. 8.9 lbs (4.04 kg) • incl. hex key tools, individual Certificate of Authenticity signed by Roger Sadowsky, Sadowsky Portabag and leather strap with Sadowsky logo • made in Germany
  6. Lovely bass, congratulations. very jealous!
  7. I put mine at the end, seems to work well.
  8. Global eq adjustments are ok if you only use one instrument… if you play multiple instruments eg acoustic guitar bass and electric guitar then you are probably better off using an eq block instead.
  9. I always use HPF and LPF with Helix both at home and live… set at 30hz and 7.5khz respectively. I may even move the HPF up to 40 now that I am only playing 4 string again… I find LPF essential for keeping the mix clean especially when using synth bass and distortions where some of the higher frequencies can sound harsh and are very much in guitar/keys territory. I think the kick drum sounds much clearer and the room sounds a lot less boomy with the HPF engaged. My understanding is that if you are using the HPF/LPF eq block the slopes are 12db/octave.
  10. Quality kit👍
  11. Bought new and sold second hand through Bass Direct by me a number of years ago… serial number 2749 Was wondering where it ended up??
  12. Sweet looking bass
  13. Wow!!♥️
  14. What a stunner ♥️♥️
  15. Chris just bought some cables from me… A nice smooth transaction with a top Basschatter👌
  16. Superb basses…Absolute bargain!
  17. After playing around and getting quite frustrated with the stock cabs/mics and also the Lancaster Audio SVT 810 IR I decided to invest in the Bergantino NXT212 IR… So glad I did, it is so clear and accurate and so reminds me of back when I used to use a bass amp and cab live. I have tried it with most of the amps on the Helix and have settled on the SVT4 Pro for now, they all sounded great though. I guess the beauty of the helix is that now I have a cab IR that I like, I can have a patch for each amp with it at a fraction of the cost of the real things… bargain😊
  18. I haven’t taken an amp out of the house for about 5 years now and after numerous pedal board combinations have settled on a Helix LT. I have a few amp and IR patches set up with variations on a theme but am pretty happy with a B15 pre (no cab) with a Volume pedal, clean boost, an overdrive, and a octave/fuzz combination to emulate the EHX Bass microsynth. It is really nice to have everything in one unit, and despite what some folks might say it is so easy to tweak on the fly. Having high and low pass built in is also really handy! I just use a set of UM Pro 50’s for in ears but am eying up some 64 customs for my next purchase
  19. This Dingwall must hold the record for heaviest bass ever produced 😂
  20. I have actually gone down the Heix LT route now and couldn’t be happier. There are some really nice preamp and amp models to work with plus all the effects and the volume pedal built in. For £795 it has more than I will ever need
  21. I had one, sounded great but the power supply was a deal breaker for me unfortunately.
  22. I did try that studio tube pre and thought it sounded great. I might create a new patch with that tonight to compare to the B15… The possibilities with this thing are endless!
