I have actually gone down the Heix LT route now and couldn’t be happier. There are some really nice preamp and amp models to work with plus all the effects and the volume pedal built in. For £795 it has more than I will ever need

I had one, sounded great but the power supply was a deal breaker for me unfortunately.

I did try that studio tube pre and thought it sounded great. I might create a new patch with that tonight to compare to the B15… The possibilities with this thing are endless!

It tracks fine, have used it live and at rehearsal and not had any issues at all. I may swap the order around to see if there is a difference.

Having played around with the Helix for a week or so I seem to be preferring the sound of the B15 preamp to the amp models. I have it set almost flat, it sounds like a really nice high quality DI My main live sound patch consists of Volume pedal-Kinky boost- Obsidian- Cawthorne drive- Octave- B15 preamp. The Cawthorne and the Octave are fairly close to the EHX Microsynth sound I was looking for so definitely a win there! Is anyone else here preferring just a pre to and amp/cab model?

I seem to remember checking to see if Fralin did one but from memory they don’t. I might be tempted to try the Aguilars next I think… maybe a Lollar might make me something if I ask nicely😊

I would kind of agree with you there. The 5 is certainly more mellow than the 4, which can get quite aggressive. It still sounds like a good P though. I think the 4 sounds more like a bright 50’s Precision and the 5 a mellowed out 60’s Precision. I have considered trying some other pickups in the 5 but overall am pretty happy with the sound, the 4 is absolutely perfect though😊

These are my only 2 basses now… Both American Pro Precisions and both with Nordstrand pickups.

A bit late to the party but I picked up a Helix LT from PMT in the week. Super easy to set up patches and sounds as good if not better than my previous pedal board. It seems that the possibilities are endless with this thing! Snap from this morning just for the sake of it😊
