I'm doing the opposite, I seem to play fretless like a fretted. The trouble is when I try and sound 'fretless' it all gets a bit early eighties and I feel like Alan Partridge playing Music For Chameleons.

I'm no electrics expert, not by a long stretch so this genuine interest, you are the man in the know. If wired in series would the bass only work if both outputs were used, the second jack plug being needed to complete the circuit, where as in parallel either output could be used independently?

I'm guessing you want to add different effects to each channel (amp). I've never done it but I'd assume you can just wire a second jack in parallel with the first, just spur a wire off of each wire on the original jack and connect them to the matching terminals on the new jack. Being passive you can't harm anything trying.

I've only ever had unlined and quite honestly have never understood the lined/unlined thing. If you have side dots then I really can't see having lines or not makes things any different. On a fretted bass surely people aren't leaning over the front to see where they are by using the fretboard dots or blocks over using the side dots, same with fretless. I much prefer the look of unlined as well and would always buy unlined over lined if a choice was available.

Unfortunately everyone has differing ideas of how to conduct themselves in a selling/buying situation. Most of the time peoples ideas are pretty similar but every now and then you find yourselves at opposing ends of the scale and have to either suck it up or walk away/move on. It's annoying at the time but worrying about such things will just get you down. I've just finished a two week negotiation with such a person (not a member here AFAIK) and thrown the towel in and admitted defeat, and we weren't even haggling on price. Sometimes it's just not meant to be. That said, I've never had any problems with any deal on here.

Hmm, the more I look into it the more it's looking like the green eyed monster is eating him. I had first spoken with him about buying it before Christmas but I couldn't go up and collect it until after, we'd agreed if he still had it after Christmas I'd come and get it, the ad was a straight sale for £650. After Christmas, before Andy posted the link, I went to message him but the ad was gone, I was disappointed as I assumed he'd sold it, then I found a new ad for £750. I then saw the fresh activity on this thread. After Stew kindly offered to hold off I messaged the seller to query the price change and was told it was £750 trade value but £650 cash, so I said cool I'll take it, I have since then been trying to arrange a time convenient to us both to collect, without any luck. After trying a few different weekends he tells me he can only do weekdays so I tell him I've got the week starting 6th January off work and he's still got it then, I'll come and get it. Then I realise I could go on new years eve so tell him I can be there at midday on Tuesday if that's any good, he read the message yesterday early afternoon but hasn't replied. I since then have clicked on Andys link and seen the messages on Facebook which didn't come up on the ad I viewed, he has told people trade only, no cash sales which appears to have miffed a couple of people as they want to buy it outright. I hate to jump to conclusions but I am starting to assume that he's keeping me at arms length until he gets a better offer, which is fine, if he doesn't want to sell for £650 then just say and we can stop this run around. I'll give him until this evening to get back to me, then over to Stew.
