1. It's about 2 years old. PM'd
2. Price drop
3. I'm downsizing, my car has died and I need to free up some cash for a new one. I'm looking to get an SM-500 instead, it would mean that I wouldn't need an estate thus reducing the cost of the new car.
4. Price update bump
5. I'm trying to gauge interest for an SWR SM-1500. It is a year and a half old and bought new, it has been lightly gigged and is in mint condition. It is mounted in a sleeved 3u rack case from the flight case warehouse. I'm looking for £1650 o.n.o. Sensible offers only. This head is still under warranty for another 3 1/2 years, I still have the receipt so I can transfer this to the buyer. You can contact me through the site, email ([email protected]) or mobile (07886687718). Here is a link to the SWR website SM-1500 page £1650 O.N.O. Sensible offers only. P.M. me for more info, I'm happy for people to come out and try it, I live about 12 miles west of Newcastle. Sold to a lovely man from Killingworth.
6. What was wrong with the amp? I played this one in the shop but didn't buy because it was very noisy when I turned master right up. I ended up buying the Workingmans 2x10C combo from them instead. GuitarGuitar have always treated me right, it's why I keep going back.
7. Line 6, Waves, IK Multimedia and Native instruments all make guitar amp emulation software. Line 6 and NI also sell theirs with USB audio interfaces, I'd recommend the Line 6 toneport studio UX1 for simple bass recordings. It's fairly cheap and easy to use. In terms of a practice amp there are loads out there, look for something that has a headphone out socket on it and an aux in for playing other sound sources through the amp. The Roland Bass Micro cube RX is a great practice amp, it can run off batteries and has a tuner, metronome, effects, 3 band EQ and a compressor. Hope this helps.

9. For sale SWR LA12 combo From the SWR site: Since 1984, we’ve been designing and building amplifiers for the top bassists on the planet. With the LA Series, we’ve packaged all that expertise into an amplifier line that just about anyone can afford, all equipped with serious tone and handy features for pros and beginners alike. Whether you’re buying your first amp, or looking for a cost- effective practice complement to an existing full-size rig, the LA Series represents the very best value in the market today. SWR® doesn’t sacrifice tone for price, and neither should you. All LA Series combo amps are loaded with the following features: * Classic SWR preamp with built-in Aural Enhancer™ circuitry * 1/4” post-EQ Line Out/Tuner Output * Stereo Headphone Output with automatic speaker defeat for silent practicing * Mix Input for practicing along with CD players or drum machines * Extended-depth cab design for accurate low-end response * Industrial-grade edge-mount handles for portability and durability 16”W x 16”H x 16”D, 39 lbs. It's a great little combo that does well for home practice as well as small gigs. I'm selling it on because I don't use it much now that I have a home recording set-up. It's in great condition, as new. I'm looking for £100 P.M. me with any questions or reasonable offers. I will deliver within a reasonable distance for the cost of the fuel. I can arrange a courier at cost to the buyer.
10. I can recommend the Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, if you have £500 to spend then you'd be best ignoring any of the USB offerings.

EHX Voice Box

I suppose you could always get your keys or guitar player to provide the carrier and you sing into it?

Moog MuRF

Has anyone tried a one of these? I'm intrigued Moog MF 105B
14. Best thing to do would be try some out, you can use any rig for metal, just make sure you have the power and speakers to compete with loud high gain guitars and a noisy drummer.
15. Well, now I know...and knowing is half the battle.
16. Cheers mate, It'll sound even better on the next one, I'm engineering it!
