1. Yes you would need one of these Sonnet FW400-800 this is the one that is recommend by Focusrite. I use the Saffire Pro 40 very successfully and I'm looking to get the 24 DSP for the speaker modelling and onboard EQ and Compression.
2. The new MacBook Pros are well worth the extra money, a better purchase than the current iMacs. If you get a Mac it will last you longer, there is more available support and I should imagine you'll enjoy owning it a whole lot more.
3. What I've always like about the golights is that they sound so similar to the goliaths, I do miss the chrome grills though.
4. According to a recent post, yes. He has been pm'd.
5. It's good to see someone else using an SWR 2x10 with a Shuttle 6.0, sweetest sounding amp I've ever owned, have a free bump.
6. Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 is loud enough, I play in a metal band and my Shuttle is loud enough for any of the venues we play when paired with my SWR Golight 2x10. Avoid the Headlite, it sounds gorgeous but it's hugely underpowered, I really struggled to get the volume out of it.
7. I have one of these and it's the best sounding SWR amp I've ever had the pleasure to own and I've owned a lot! This is a bargain, mine cost me about this much and it isn't in anywhere near as good condition as this. Have a free bump!
8. I'd love to hear what you think of them. I saw Tesseract and Periphery last night, bloody brilliant!
9. I suppose if you can get a good deal go for the 8400s, especially if you dig KRK gear. You'll almost certainly find the 8400s more comfortable to mix with for prolonged periods.
10. I was looking at the KRKs, I use the RP5s for monitoring so I'm a big fan. I understand the the main difference between them is that the 8400s have a volume control and nicer padding on the earpieces. The 8400s have a little more bass response whereas the 6400s are supposed to be a little bit more neutral sounding. I was looking at getting the 6400s, there are some good reviews out on the web if you search youtube. I freaking love First Signs of Frost mate, are you planning any releases in the near future?
11. I covet your SM-500 but I'm skint =( Someone really needs to buy this because SWR have stopped making them and it's quite possibly one of the nicest heads they ever built.
12. Bump, I'll consider trades and offers.
13. Bump, I'll take part ex for interesting effects, studio gear or six string basses!

15. I haven't a clue, as far as I was aware second hand is the only way to go.
16. I have one and I'm afraid you can't get any grit out of it, it's a fairly warm sounding pre for an SWR but still very clean. I'm in a mood with mine because SWR put in a power amp clipping light that's designed to tell you when the power amp is near clipping, not when it clips. The issue is that the clip light comes on a long time before the power amp actually clips, it's also only just keeping up with two guitars and a loud drummer in a rock band so I'm getting rid of it and getting a GB Shuttle 6.0, which I'm led to believe is a similar clean sounding amp but with the option to add grit with the pre valve.
17. I entirely agree, not only should you buy it so I can pay back the missus, but to end the suffering currently being endured by attitudecastle!
18. Second hand I believe, I don't think they're in production anymore!
19. I might be down in late October, the bass is tuned beadgcf (fourths) and yes it is made in Korea. Lovely bass though and it sounds ten times better with the Aguilar preamp.
20. Smashing mate, have a lovely time!
