  1. It depends on what cabs you try them through I suppose and with regards to the original subject I'm sure what I might call muddy the next guy would call bright! We all hear different things so to some Ampeg may well sound punchy. Buy some SWR gilmour, buy!!!!!
  2. If I'm going to spend a load of money on a nice amp I want it to colour my sound, hence the SWR. I tried a WT800 for a few weeks and I always found the tone to be a bit muddy, it was like SWR without the bright character.
  3. Beyond The Grave are playing the Newcastle Academy 2 this Sunday 13th April, any metalheads out there who fancy popping down? Doors are at 7pm Tickets £5 from the Academy box office
  4. These things are entirely up to personal taste but if you're looking for punchy and warm have a listen to some SWR. My experience with Ampeg has always been that it's very middly and cuts through well but it's quite harsh sound and in my opinion wouldn't serve funk too well.
  5. My main axe is an Overwater Progress III 5 string with a 36" scale, my backup is a Squier Pro Tone 5 string with the frets pulled out, EMG DC soapbars put in and a Kahler 7415 tremolo bridge attached. I also have an Aria SWB EUB.

  9. I'm using a T-Rex Mudhoney, it's fantatsic. You can get screaming fuzz out of it and smooth o/d.
  10. Bump, I'm open to trade offers. Pedals, basses etc.
  11. Here's mine, sorry for the dark and grainy picture. I took it on my phone and the studio doesn't have very good lighting. The rig is an SWR SM-1500 with a Goliath III and Son of Bertha. According to the Fender rep I was the only person daft enough in Europe to purchase the SM-1500. 30kgs of bass joy and thats not including the sleeved rack.

  14. Does anybody have much experience with them? Are they easy to fit? I've got a Squier protone 5 string with no frets that I want to fit a trem on.
  15. Can anybody recommend a good rosin for EUB's?
