1. Recordings are up in the recording section, I apologise for the shoddy playing, it was late!
2. Here are some examples of slapping, tapping and finger style recorded through the D.I. of the new SWR Headlite. The bass used was a Conklin GT-BD7.
3. The characteristics of the sound are very similar, very SWR. The mids are a bit more detailed and it sounds punchier overall. It's most similar to the 350x I used to have. I can't say I've ever found that much of a difference in the sound between the different SWR models, they're all the same preamp after all. If you like the SWR sound you're going to love the headlite. I'm impressed the most by how loud it is and the feature set, it's got more EQ control than most of the SWR range.
4. Please do not hesitate to PM or email ([email protected]) me with offers or questions. I can deliver within a reasonable distance from Sunderland for the cost of petrol. My best guess is that it is between 5-7 years old. It has some minor marks on the front panel and the gain pot crackles but this does not effect the amp's operation. Included is a 4u hard rack and the SWR effects footswitch.
8. SWR have just released the headlite and amplite, micro head and micro power amp.
9. *Friday bump* Come guys, Andy needs a lightweight 1x15!
10. It has arrived! Fender in a display of unusual efficiency have shipped me one a month early. Used it for a gig this afternoon, it's amazing, so loud and punchy yet so small. I have been running it through a golight jnr. 2x10 and I'm thoroughly impressed with the low end the set up produces. I should have some comparisons and recordings up later next week.
11. Cheers dude, the move to the lightweight gear has been sparked by the new Headlite micro head from SWR. I'm sick of carrying heavy cabs and heads so its neo cabs and a micro head for me. I don't have need of a huge amp anymore now that my heavy metal band days are over! I'm glad the 1500 is treating you well, I saw the photo of it with the 2 4x10s, truly epic mate.
12. There's the new SWR amplite, that's a 1u half rack.
13. They are priced at £150 and £125 respectively. I do not have any photos of them as they are at my parent's house, I can get some if there is interest, please PM me.
14. *Tuesday bump and price drop* These are a bargain, someone please take them off my hands!
15. Aye, I'm a bit of a SWR fanboy. I shall do some comparisons when I get the Golights, that ought to be the end of February. By all accounts the Golights sound almost identical to the standard cabs, some differences in the mids I gather.
16. I've ignored all the advice and gone for a 2x10 and a 1x15! Thank's for the input guys =)
17. Nowhere has stock, but I have one on back order, it'll be arriving end of Feb/early March. I'm getting it through GuitarGuitar.
18. It's on its way! Expect recordings and a review for all you lovely people end of Feb/early March. I'm getting the Headlite with a Golight 2x10 and Golight 1x15.
19. No need to worry I will include the official SWR cleaning cloths to mop up the drool!

21. There are some good videos of the lightweight stuff in action here: http://www.youtube.com/user/swramps Check out the 2010 showcase one. I'm just waiting on GuitarGuitar getting back to me with a price. Subsequently I'm putting up all my other SWR gear for sale so if anyone's interested check out the For sale section!
22. The golights are front ported, they've taken the goliath series and made everything lighter that they could. So neo magnets (same speakers) lighter wood and aluminium grills, handles and crossover assembly. They weigh 17.2kg according to the website.
23. Cheers, that was the kind of response I was hoping for. I'd rather have the modular approach but I don't want to end up having a weedy sounding rig.
