I borrowed one of those clip on tuners a few months ago. It didn't track the open E string very well but picked up the 12th fret harmonic easily. Very handy for tuning up before a gig without digging out a lead as well. Can't remember the name of it, though I could find out, but it was cheap enough.
hopefully they'll be delayed into never coming out =P God i hate Peavey equipment!
Yeah I know what you mean - I felt the same way. Until I actually tried one. Although there's no indication that they'll release an amp only version of this, I really hope they do. It might have a RRP of only about £300.

To assert your copyright in the performance and the recording you need something along the lines of © band name, ℗ label name: year, all rights reserved.
-
Sounds like the valve amps they turned out - the Hexa, Quadra and Twin(?). Maybe they did SS versions as well though. Edit: The only combo they did from that series was a Twin though, and that had a 7 band EQ, AFAIK.

As someone else mentioned the treatment you get in Europe puts venues in Britain to shame, even the notionally much poorer Eastern European ones. Although not exactly a rider, my favourite was the place that said that if anybody smoked we'd find a bag in his office and we could help ourselves. The sound guy went to look for it a bit later, on top of the desk, on the shelves, in draws - nothing. And then he spotted the stuffed bin bag in the corner...
so what does this mean??? is running a 8 or 4 ohm speaker going to be detrimental to my amp, im still very hazey on the purpose of impedance levels
Because the output is wired in series, the impedance of any cab you plug in to the combo will be added to the existing 4 ohms of the speaker already in there. Like the manual says, you can add any impedance speaker to the combo and it won't damage it. Solid state amps only run into trouble if you try running them at lower than the minimum impedance. Take a quick look at the wiki for the differences between series and parallel wiring.
-
Now that's unusual. From the manual:
External Speaker: This is a serial connection socket for speakers that connects the internal speaker in series with the additionally connected one. As the resistance adds on the internal resistance, even speakers with low impedances can be connected.
So the amp is running at 4 ohms at the moment, and adding an 8 ohm cab would give you a total impedance of 12 ohms.

The Contemporary Series used to have painted headstocks and the grey logos. Couldn't tell you if that is one though.
That looks well tasty and I`m thinking of getting another combo. Any idea when it`s comin oot? Jez
No idea I'm afraid. This press release from the beginning of the year says they were coming out in the second quarter of this year, but no dealers seem to have them in stock. Sounds a bit like the same situation as the delays with the Ashdown Little Giants.

There was a thread a while back about this very subject - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=35667
I think it will be a while before I am at the kind of level to be involved in such things.
I wouldn't worry about that at all - everyone has been in the exact same position when they start out. In fact some of us are still in that position after 30 years. Besides, I'm sure plenty of people would be happy to give you some tips and pointers.
HAHA its stamped 1999, it was the first bass i got so i am just wanting to keep it, sentimental value i have started stripping it, sanding, gonna respray it, and new hardware and keep it going for a while
Hah! In that case try Schaller or Gotoh tuners to match the bridges mentioned by rasher.
-
Which squier model is it? If it's one of the cheaper models I'm not sure it's worth splashing a lot of cash on it. By the time you replace all those bits the outlay would be more than the rest of the bass. Personally I'd consider saving the money, selling the bass and buying a classic vibe. Unless of course that's what you've already got.
-
I don't think the 3012's are intended to be used in sealed cabs either.
-
Sorry if this is old news, but I've just noticed have got a new TNT combo coming out. Nothing particularly unusual in that, as Peavey seem to regularly update their products, but this one seems to be going the lightweight route. Or at least Peavey's idea of lightweight- they're giving no clues as to what that weight is as yet. Wonder if they've got any plans to release the amp section as a stand alone head? There's nothing much wrong software drum machines for home practice. About the only advantage of a hardware drum machine is its stability for live use. Hammerhead and leafdrums are worth looking into, but there are plenty of DAW's with sequencing capabilities that will do the same job and a lot more into the bargain.

An Aria CSB300 looking unloved at £90. Though that might have something to do with the P pickup and collection only... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Aria-Pro-Cardinal-Se...emZ170381723854 -
Looks like a very tidy job. 12mm ply - sounds like they'll be fairly light. Have you weighed your cabs yet?
-
I've never seen one of these before, even on ebay, so couldn't even take a stab at the price. There are collectors about for some of the more obscure JapCrap so you might see some serious interest in an auction, but what price that would translate to is anyone's guess. The pricing on ebay can vary wildly and is a bit of a mystery at the best of times. I take it you've found the Westone site?
+1 for the decent strap thing. If you're using a recycled car seat belt, you're waisting your time
That'd be me as well then. They're more slippery than a very slippy thing.
Weve just been in discussiosn with Bugbear regarding playing the Dublin Castle... I actually think they have been very reasonable. They have eventually (after much discussion) offered us a SUnday night main support slot which for a band that hasnt giiged in london for over a year is a great slot IMO. Howvere we cant do it now due to personal commitments.. They originally insisted on 30 people which for us is doable butw e refused to gurantee anyone and said we woudl rather say no one will come and play first. Eventually they offered us a better slot and we need to bring whoever we can! Were getting 150 plus locally but I agree whole heartedly about NOT paying to play. Its eventually gonan lead to people not playing London 9dont knwo when though).
Bugbear are OK promoters, though nothing especially fantastic about them. They won't rip you off or give you any unwelcome surprises, but their gigs won't be packed unless the bands themselves put the effort in to bring a crowd. You do get a few people visiting the Dublin Castle because of it's (now faded) reputation, but they're pretty thin on the ground. It's pretty much impossible to effectively promote a gig of unknown bands, so that just leaves promoting the club which only really works when when catering for a niche. Bugbear aren't particularly focussed other than mostly covering 'indie', which covers an awful lot of ground. If they're still operating the same way as they used to you'll get some money once you've had 20 people through the door to see you.

Not sure if any of these have already been mentioned but here's a bunch of multitracks. Great for hearing the isolated tracks or playing along without any bass in the mix.
