A cheap bass that I want has just appeared on eBay. The main problem is that it's in Marylebone and collection only. For an expensive item I'd have no problem making the journey myself. As it's a rather good price I'd be spending half as much again on diesel or even more if I used the,over priced, replacement bus service network. If there is some kind bass chatter that regularly commutes my direction who'd be willing to help out then I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thanks

I did notice, initially, that I couldn't stretch as far with my ring on as seemed to restrict the elasticity of the skin between my fingers. I'm all back to normal now though.

Turns out that, upon re assembly, I had managed to put the return jack socket tip solder lug in contact with the pedal case. So when I stood on the switch the signal was routed straight to ground. All fixed now.

Can't beat the real world evidence of ownership, but the photograph on Thomann clearly shows a 23 fret bass as described, hence my reason for posting. I'll get back in my box.

Found myself rather intrigued by these and have been looking in great detail. I "may" have found why the fretted is unplayable. The full price B30 is a 24 fret neck. The deco B30 is a 23 fret neck. Comparing the photos seems to suggest that the 23rd and 24th frets are in the same position on both models. This would lead me to believe that all of the frets are slightly high all the way up the fret board and as such the intonation is "wrong"! It won't be an issue for home use buy if you were to try and use it in an acoustic band situation then it'll probably sound off. I could be wrong and I'm sure someone with a set of vernier callipers will take accurate measurements and correct me if that's the case.

Set up effects - check Plug bass in to effects - check Plug effects in to amp - check Plug amp DI in to recording interface - check No signal being received at interface! All powered? - check Unplug bass from effects and plug in to amp - signal at interface. Plug bass in to last effect and remake connection to amp - signal at interface Repeat process back across the pedals - signal at interface until I get back to back to original setup when there is no signal at interface! Take tuner out of mute and look rather embarrassed - double check!

I'm currently saving my pennies for a Focusrite Scarlet 18i8. Gives me all the inputs I need initially with an adat so I can add an octopre when further funds/need can justify the purchase.

I'm up to date. This thread was started at the perfect time as it was boxing day and a lot of people were having a bit of downtime over Christmas. Locking it at the end of January also seems like a good time. Whether it gets unlocked, or a new thread is started, I feel we have all been involved in a new Christmas tradition.
