4. I have a Euro 5 with a modified U-Retro 5 knob deluxe & it's great. I also had a TP'd 4LX & if anything I'd say the 5 has more bollocks, as I always boosted the 4's bass & don't need to use the 5's eq at all. Can't compare the TP & East in the 5 though as mine already had it. 4 knobs - Vol / pan stacked Bass / treble stacked with pull bright Mid freq / cut & boost stacked Passive tone [works in active too] with pull passive Try PM's to GreeneKing & Sean on here, they had them installed & could comment far more on the comparisons between the pre's. Keep them both, I should have.

6. This bass is too small - This bass is too big - I'm just looking at eBay, dear - Decisions, decisions -
7. I stand corrected. No thanks, I'm saving for vintage natural BC Rich and a gert chunky bifton valve amp.
8. That Mockingbird is a thing of beauty, Geezer Butler is using an identical model on the inside sleeve of Live Evil. I would happily sell everything I own for one and am proper jealous.
9. Dunno then, sorry. There shouldn't be too much noise with both pups full on, but it should increase as one is backed off. Probably. I'll just back out now. My old Geddy was fair noisy though. Sell it & get a P-bass.
10. Are the control cavitiy & scratchplate also shielded & do all the earths terminate at a common grounding point like the vol pot? Pic?
11.
Yes, it does show where the money goes with luthiers - That's why the more expensive stuff is so special to own and play.
Yup, that Delano P has an RRP of about £170.
12.
...others have a limiter - which is like half a compressor, it brings down the volume of loud notes but does nothing to the quiet ones...
As does the LH-500.
13. http://wiki.basschat.co.uk/info:effects:co...rs_and_limiters http://www.ovnilab.com/ Another EBS vote here, even I can use it. A used Boss or it's Behringer clone may be cheap way to see if compression is your thing & tend to resell well.
14. And all done with a chisel. Nice work fella.
15. Thanks to Nik for sorting it out, a cracking day; I'll have a 6, a Wal & a BC Rich please Santa. That Markbass rig has no right to be that loud. I'll put some pics up tonight, including a great perspective shot of Nik & a 6'er.
16.
I know i'm too late but its worth trying 3M Dual Lock. Its what the pro-rig makers use in the states ala Bob Bradshaw and Dave Freidman.
Totally. Pricey though, unless it accidentally gets ordered through work.

20.
How bigger difference have the Dimarzios made, Johnny?
Like a different instrument mate - great string to string balance, strong tone right across the register, louder than the active Spector which overdrives the DHA nicely and, of course - they're cream, which is like a go-faster stripe. Stock pickup & electrics went in the bin.
21. Is the B strung through the body?
