2.
my mrs doesn't mind one, it's all the others that she has a problem with.
And the cabs, stands & pedals. And the sh*te music I play.
 3. Christ, I'm 19 again. But fatter.
 4.
Some of us like to play loud whatever, others are fonder of hearing things into middle / older age.
EH? ER20 me up mush.
 5. Or get a series / parallel (or S-1 type) switch - gives you true J & pseudo-P. Andy at Wizard's always a good bet though...
 6.
I found the notch in the end an ideal locator when I put my headstock on my cab to give horrible low end feedback.
Must try next gig
 7. Geddy Lee with Wizard 84's, series switching & D-tuner.
 8. 58. Then unscrew the shield to make a 57 to mike the bass cab in the studio! Excellent mikes.
 9. Luthier. It'll cost more if you f*** it up. IMHO you understand.
 10.
I probably spend 90% of my time using less than half of my 550 watts. It's not marketing, but if you decide you want "headroom" then you need a big amp.
Ditto. 575w, never been above 10 o'clock except when I hired a rehearsal room to see how loud it went. Edit: very loud.
 11.
morning campers. Do I Take a crappy case with me on the plane, then swap the crappy case for the bongo w/case and pretend its the same bass?
And to you. Might just work...?
 12. Shape in - for 50 & 4k boost (shame 400 goes), add some 340 & 660 to get through the guitards and maybe a bit of 7k if the strings are old, valve drive at 12:00 and get the preamp clipping nicely. Bosh, job done. Never sounds so beefy w/o the Shape. 2x10's all the way.
 13.
Good amp, I'd be interested but it's a bit pricey for my empty wallet. Good luck with the sale
Me too. And too heavy. And in Sheffield. Ah well, one day...
 14.
this is proving to be quite popular
Hardly surprising mush, trying some out this weekend.. Ta, John.
 15.
I hope they're not like Sansamp Bass Drivers in that they get bigged up, but are infact utterly sh*te and useless!
I've got the Para Driver and that has a mid control making it much better. 100 notes off fleabay and of course I paid the import duty your honour Or save and get an EBS Microbass II like I should have EDIT: And probably will when the heat's off from Mrs Lager.
 16. That reminds me, I ordered a set of Lo-Riders off fleabay for 18 quid with 6-10 day delivery. 3 weeks ago. I'll pay the extra tenner from the UK next time. Never had a problem before this though...
 17.
Could be the 1x15 I used that was causing the worst of the problems.
FWIW, I A/B'd 1x15 & 2x10 ABM cabs and found the 2x10 much clearer & punchier. 'specially with another 2x10.
 18.
To answer your question though... yes, I do. All the time, and.. yes, there are.
Though sometimes one can be fortunate and get away with it. Not me though sir, your honour sir. Never.
 19.
The nob-head who dances idiotically right in front of you taking the p155 with his brain dead mates watching on. I wish I could put my bass down and break that f*ckers legs. Winds me up every time
Sorry.
 20.
Or clean them with meths, apparently. There was a thread up on here not that long ago which suggested cleaning your strings with methylated spirit to dissolve all the crap out of them. Just not crystal meth, obviously.
Aye, what a terrible waste that would be
...a pan (or other container for that matter) half-full of boiling water from the kettle, with about a tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda works like a charm - you can literally see all the crap floating off your strings, and they're clean in about 20 seconds. i'm claiming to have invented this method of cleaning strings, as i've not heard of it being done before, but it works great.
Add a little lemon or vinegar too, takes the grease off. And I'll have the patent of this version, ta
 21.
that doesn't have an auxiliary input for jamming along to CDs or MP3s...
Worth a try though, eh?
 22. +1 for the EBS Multicomp. I found the Boss LMB-3 OK but the EBS much better. And less knobs. The EBS LED indicates the level of compression too. LMB-3's go for about 30-40 notes on fleabay though...
 23. You want this mate.
 24. Lifting heavy stuff. Then driving 70 miles home while everyone else gets mullered. My fault though, should've bought lighter gear and moved.
