1. For sale, my EBS Bass IQ black label envelope filter. It's one of the newer true bypass models, about six months old. It has been mounted on my pedalboard and is in immaculate condition, as can be seen in the photo below. It has hardly been used. As it's been on a pedalboard it does have velcro on the bottom. This pedal also has 3 useful trim pots inside the case. They are for, 1- high pass filter mix (dry signal high frequencies), 2- gain (overall pedal output when on), and 3- dynamic high pass filter mix (high frequency content of the filter signal). These things are around £160 new and I'm looking for £95 which will include the original box and signed for shipping to anywhere you like as long as it's mainland UK. I'm also happy for the buyer to come round and collect in person from London N4. I just don't use it and I need the space on my pedal board, so it's got to find a new home. Cheers
2. I can vouch for the sound quality of the Red Dragon pedal. I've got a Micro Red Dragon and it's just amazing. A wide range of dirty goodness available in one of these. Have a bump on me.
3. Would you be interested in a trade for an EBS Bass IQ? Hearing Sibobs MXR on Saturday has convinced me I need one.
4. Wasn't it a fantastic afternoon! Lots of great gear and basses to paw over, and nice folk to natter to. A big thank you to Mick, Lozz and everyone who helped put it together. And of course, everyone who turned up and made it what it was. Let's do it again sometime

6. At last I now know where I'm gigging Saturday and as it's not too far away the good news is that I will definitely be along to the bash on Saturday, so I'll be able to bring along my Berg HD112, Streamliner 600 and a couple of pedals to boot. I'll probably be there about 1pm. I'm looking forward to putting faces to names and meeting you 'orrible lot at last Seeya there.
7.
Could get a decent pole dancer for your next gig?
This has my vote.
8. How much were they asking you to pay for this?
9.
Music is art, there are no rules.
Well said.
10. I play it the same way you do. I find that by using a barre I can let the bottom note ring out whilst I'm playing the octave & 7th above it. It may not be exactly true to the original part, but, it is the chorus and it needs to be big. I don't have loads of layered samples, backing tracks etc etc so I'm gonna make a f*ck load of noise there, especially so in the insturmental chorus just before the end. No apologies, just crank it up, nail it and enjoy At the end of the day it doesn't matter how you do it, as long as you're comfortable with it that's all that matters.
11. Another long drive yesterday. London to Windermere and back, but I got home at a surprisingly early 4.10am. A great gig - and my rig sounded awesome, stunning scenery and the wedding party were really up for a good time. Job done on all counts.
12. So, a new Compact record - 3 weeks!! Unbelievable. They used to sell in under an hour.
13. I get the same as every one else in the band. If I asked for £100 for a pub gig that pays £50 to the rest of the band I'm never going to hear from them again. Whether it's a small paying pub gig or a decent paying function I just ask myself if I'm available that night, if I want to do it, and if it's worth it because of distance to travel & petrol costs. I don't normally have to learn too many songs as I've been at this a while and pretty much know most of what I'll be asked to play. But I always do my homework and learn (and chart out in case I need to play the songs again in the future) any songs i didn't already know. There have been times in the past where learning 20-30 songs for one gig hasn't been uncommon but these days it's usually only a handful at most. My approach to depping is simple - turn up at the gig completely prepared, do a solid job without showing off all over the place, and be confident in my playing that next time that band want a dep I'm top of the list or damned close to it. That way, in time, the phone will ring and more gig offers will come my way.
14. My gig that night may be off, I'm just waiting for news either way. If I can make it to the bash I'll definitely bring my Streamliner 600 & Berg HD112 along.
15. A weekend of pub gigs for me. A fun one in Fulham Friday, but Saturday in Leyton was awesome. It was a proper old fashioned East End pub and we were booked to do 3 sets but the landlady asked us to do one more set at the end. That's when we really turned it on and pulled out a few songs we hadn't done in a while, and we nailed the lot. The place was jumping. Sore fingers and my voice is shot now but totally worth it.
16. I live in London. The gig was near Plymouth, 240 miles away. The band were really on it, a great gig. After the gig, around 1am, the car wouldn't start. It took another 13 hours and 3 AA relay trucks to get home. That was a long day & night. Why can't these things happen when you play 2 miles from home? Lol.
17. I have played with one particular KB player for years, and it never fails to shock me how ham fisted, un swinging and groove ruiningly bad his playing is. On a gig I have to try hard to pretend he's not there. What is odd is this, he has a superb ear. One of the best I've ever come across. It's a funny old world......
18. Allman Brothers band & Brad Paisley. All good here.
19. I got turned on to this show recently. I love it. Until, that is, I listened to the link above. Does anyone agree with me that Cee Lo really isn't much of a singer? He mumbles his way through most of the song, awful delivery. The band are on it as to be expected but he's a major let down IMHO.
20. I'd love to be there, it just depends on if & where I'm gigiing that night. It's in my diary anyhow.
21.
I've had an umbilical hernia op coupled with simultaneous gastric sleeve op, so I can sympathise with you, mate. Not fun at all!
I guess we have had better weekends! Get well soon.
