1.
Ok, just found this on a site for a mere £259. So, anything around that region? I'm also after another 4 string, not a 5'er
Was that new or second hand?
 2.
Ian - is the original burst finish still there under the undercoat, or did you strip it? Might be interested if there's a chance of restoring it to original. Would be very interested to see some pics too, if that's OK. Jon.
No I stripped it to the wood. They also did them in a black finish so I suppose that would be the easiest finish to achieve. As for the original finish Im afraid thats well gone
 3.
So presumably those pictures are not of your guitar? Would be interested to see pics. What sort of state is the body in visually? Is it literally all just in a bag? Ballpark figure?
No they aren't, It was my intention to spray it white originally so its been undercoated in white The body and neck are one piece, its been filler primered and undercoated and that's it, it needs flatting down and re undercoating before the top coats. All the parts are literally in a plastic tesco bag lol. I'll try and get some pictures up before Monday, got a busy weekend so it may take a while, but hey "life is long and there is time to kill today" Not got any idea of a ball park figure, just whatever someone wants to pay for it I suppose or even swap it for something
 4. This was a project I never got finished The body was under coated ready for a top coat but I never got round to it & will need redoing now. I have all the original parts in a plastic bag including pick ups, machine heads bridge and tail piece etc The only thing missing is one of the saddle screws off the bridge. The guitar is an Ibanez Studio 50 or ST 50 as it says on the truss rod cover don't really know what its worth so I am up for any offers, also willing to trade for something interesting I can send photos if anyone is interested This is how it used to look
 5. Absolutely ridiculously low price, if someone doesn't snap it up for that then what is the world coming to. This is probably the best sounding bass on the market bar none
 6.
100% Blue and looking forward to January :-) I stupidly live near old trafford though Bring a hat and gloves Deaver cos it's pretty cold at the mo. Visiting any where nice?
Welcome to Bass chat from a fellow Manc and more importantly a fellow Blue
 7. Iv'e had it once or twice in the past, I usually just ask for their guitar give them a quick rendition of Eruption and Flight of the bumble bee, smile sarcastically and walk away
 8.
Spend £2000 on a car and a few years later it's probably worthless. Spend £2000 on a bass and a few years later it's may still be worth £1500 or even more if you wait long enough.
Problem with that is often boutique Basses are difficult to sell as most people tend to plump for well known names. I mean look at Warwick's, you pay £1100 for one and its worth £450 the week after, what's the point of that? The only names that really seem to hold their price are Fender, Gibson, Rickenbacker and Gretch. The rest are down to finding a buyer who actually wants a particular instrument. You also seem to get trends where certain boutique makes are popular and then 2 years down the line no one wants them
 9.
If I had the cash, I'd have that off you right now. That's lush.
Your right there mate. I played on this a couple of weeks ago and the neck is fantastic. If I was a bit more flush I would snap this up now. I would recommend this to anyone its light, plays fantastic and sounds like thunder, you must be mad parting with that one Dave

 11. Gorgeous Peavey EXP HP signature model. Cost over £400 new, in great nick, some slight wear to the gold plating on the pickups Beautiful ebony fretboard. This guitar plays like a 80's Ibanez Artist, Sounds like a les paul and looks like a PRS. Its the nicest guitar Iv'e ever owned and it pains me to sell it but needs must and I need more basses and bass gear Comes with fitted hard case, fitted with schaller strap locks £250 or trades by way of a bass 4 or 5
 12.
Is this the one you have? http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~W...ing~ID~2065.asp Is it a 2 band EQ with bolt on neck? Also does your bass have 'MEC' or 'MEP' pickups?
Sounds from his post like its more likely to be a proline or other active job. The pick-ups will be MEC no doubt. Could be either bolt on or NT as they do both (I am a big fan of bolt ons myself) I have just swapped my streamer for a USA Jazz and I honestly believe that the Warwicks sound superior and more versatile to anything else on the market. If it wasn't for my love of maple necks I would have kept mine
 13.
I've ditched all our lights that we collected over time and have got a pair of iColour4's. These are compact, cheap and do anything! Most times we just gig with one of them sat on the floor at the front of the stage - no need for cables, controllers or stands. They are the new garlic bread and ony £130. Trust me, I'm a Doctor!
The only problem find with these is that while they are ok for lighting the band, they give no real visual effect whatsoever. When I go and see a good band I like the lights to be part of the show not just something that lights up the room. You don't really get that without using narrow spots
 14. You just missed this beauty that was on here toward the end of last week. I'm now in possession of it and its mighty indeed, I have never really been a fan of Fender Jazzes but after playing this one I was hooked, and of course it was half what you have to spend Its fitted with SD basslines and 3 band active EQ and an absolutely gorgeous maple board
 15. You can get the Par 56 LED par cans from Thomann for just £23 quid each or the Par 64 LED cans for 35 quid. Very cheap indeed and if you buy enough the postage is free too. As for proper par cans, they do throw a lot more light out than the LED versions but they are also less stable and much hotter As stated in previous posts the lamps a bit expensive although not all that bad at £11.50 for 500w Par 64s sealed beam inc vat & and about 7 quid for the par 56s They get very hot and the maintenance is quite high on them and it would cost you about the same amount if not more for one can with a lamp as it would for an LED. Then you have to buy the GELs It depends on the type of gigs you are doing to how many lights you need. We do weddings and big corporate functions a lot so we need quite an extensive rig including effects for the dance floor if there is no DJ booked. In a pub you can get away with 4 par 56s and that is big enough for most small to medium sized pubs.
 16. I bought a few bits from these if its the music outlet shop, they never arrived, everytime I emailed him to ask about them he just said the English posties were thieves and it was tough. In the end I had to get my money back through paypal. He refused to provide proof of postage and just basically told me to F off. the guy is a joker
 17.
indeed ..but I've heard sh*t versions by wedding/cover bands who don't know how (or can't be bothered) to reproduce the groove properly.. M
Yeah but to be fair how many garbage versions of Jazz standards have you heard by poor bands too. That doesn't make the original a bad song. And as for hearing it so much that its annoying, the same could be said for a million jazz standards. It doesn't detract from the fact that the original may have been a great piece of music. There are more things to the song than the music, for example Picket was a great vocalist and his voice fitted the song like a glove. I like anything from Chic to Iron Maiden, the style of music doesn't really matter to me. What matters is that to thing is well crafted and well performed.
 18. Now mine and I am chuffed to bits this is a top class bit of kit, thanks Paddy, enjoy the Warwick mate and keep in touch
 19. Great to deal with, lovely family and a really nice guy all round. I'm chuffed to bits with the Jazz, I hope you enjoy the streamer as much as I did. Cheers Paddy
