1.
Unfortunately you can only see the whole gig on repeat by becoming a VIP member which costs money. Plus it's a gig - it's supposed to be enjoyed live. ;-)
Yeah it should. But I'm sure my punters won't be happy if I'm watching someone else's gig when I should be doing my own
2. Depends on how much of an effect you are looking for really. There are some good starter sets in Maplin that won't break the bank. We have strips of lights, smoke machine and some rather fab lasers but that's not even enough for our band by rights as we should have projections on a circular screen! Lol!
3. The one thing you are missing is "Relics" which is an album of singles which were not included on albums. Animals is an album I love that a lot of people don't have time for as the tracks are so long.
4. Sadly I'll be performing my own gig at the time. You should get them to upload so that you can watch again, like an iplayer thing I know I'd watch! Ignore me, I can see now that is what the video is!! Decided to type before watching.... My bad!
5. Mr Bluesman you are very visible to me, so I would like to welcome you
6. Sounding good The Boy
7. Thanks guys! I'm really looking forward to it
8. Firstly, this isn't the dark side, it's you finally seeing the light I would suggest that your transfer to bass isn't as easy as most guitarists would think. The fact that you play rhythm should hopefully mean that you have a greater understanding of the bass as a rhythm instrument. However, many guitarists have discovered that becoming a bassist isn't as straight forward as they anticipated!! As for Ibanez basses, I'm a great fan! The SR300 range is fantastic value for money, and has a slim neck which may help you move over from a guitar easier. Good luck!
9. Not heard anything from Roger Waters or Dave Gilmour, so I'm guessing they don't mind. Nick Mason, is one of the most laid back and coolest guys ever, so I can't see him objecting. Guy Pratt was a star and very supportive by helping me with authentic pedal settings for Floyd tracks, so I'm guessing he doesn't mind and his Mrs is the late Rick Wright's daughter. So, as far as I can tell, all good in the hood for Ultimate Floyd!!
10. Simon - loved your track! Fantastic entry! Garry - OMG!!! Anyone that that can get me dancing at this time in the morning must have one incredible talent!!!!! I adored it, and the bassline was kick arse!! Fabulous. Still not started mine due to "technical problems", still hoping to get something down though!
11. I'm in the Pink Floyd tribute band "Ultimate Floyd". Links in signature.
12. Taken at our dress rehearsal today, quite an impressive hall I think. Would be fab to see some basschatters come!
13.
At last, the post I've been waiting for - what took you so long?
Yep, I was waiting for Bilbo's comment too You've got a reputation Rob
14. We are 4th on the billing of 5 for the "Rock and Restoration" gig to save the Caerphilly Workingmens Hall. The gig starts at 7.30pm at the hall, and tickets are £3 on the door. I'm guessing we will be going on at about half nine, quarter to ten as the early bands are doing a 30 min set each. Our set is 45mins.
15. Iron Maiden - Wrathschild Was on a set list of an old band of mine, thankfully the band folded before I needed to play it live
16.
But Nige, you gig in well kitted out venues. I can count the number of times I've had decent monitors at a gig in the South West on one hand.
This! I trust my kit, its decent stuff. Would much rather plug my trusty GT10b into something that didnt give me a work out every time I'd need to move it and require a van to transport it though if I'm honest
17. Hello and welcome
18. Love the "tight as a gnats chuff" line Hello and welcome
19. Welcome from a short 30 something (just!) tubby woman from South wales
20.
That's not very rock 'n' roll, is it mate? Breakfast should be a line of coke, a fag and a hit of Jack Daniel's.
Guess you won't approve of my berries, yoghurt and granola either then Although mine is accompanied with a double espresso most mornings
21. Hi Baz, Good luck with finding your bassist! I'm in the wrong part of the country to know anyone that may help, but you've advertised in the right section now, so hopefully someone will be able to help. Welcome! This site is really cool.... Probably as bassist are usually the coolest people in most bands
22. Fabulous Nige I'm enjoying going back and re-learning theory after a 20 year break... It is quite liberating and I enjoy the mathematical quality. And agree that a fab teacher can bring things to life (although my Mr Ace was making my grey matter work too hard in my last lesson to the point where I told him "I don't like you anymore" ) I honestly don't think you'll lose "you" as others have been concerned about...what will happen is it will evolve "you".
23.
hmmm i think i may need to convert you from ibanez to yamaha first tho
That will never happen
24.
but you PROMISED red seedless disappointed
Ha ha great minds!
25. Can I just say...... Ewwwwwwwww!!!! Everyone knows red grapes are nicer...... Hello there Discreet, big boy
