  1. So I’m guessing poster’s YOB roughly between 1964 and 1968? Am I right? Well am I?
  2. I really enjoyed that Don Cheadle clip. In interviews he comes across as so funny with a really great, dry sense of humour.
  3. Please tell me that this is a joke and not something that anyone actually did 😳
  4. I cannot think of a personality type less suited to our beloved instrument.
  5. Ewwwwwwh that’s in my head now. Thanks for that, not...
  6. Also very active in fundraising for military veterans - started his own organisation for them - by all accounts a very nice chap. But then, he would be, wouldn’t he? Bass player, innit?
  7. According to Wikipedia, Gary Portnoy and Judy Hart Angelo - the composers of that theme are New Yorkers, so your theory would seem to hold true.
  8. There. Fixed.
  9. Now that is just sick.
  10. Congratulations chief 👍
  11. I‘ve often had sounds which sounded fine on the smaller speakers in my home office jump out and take your head off in a live context. The capacity to tweak them (at the Soundcheck, not on the fly mind - the knobs are too sensitive to do that in the heat of battle) is very useful there.
  12. I’ve never had any problems using standard string lengths on my Läkland which is 35“ scale, so I don’t think it should be an issue.
  13. @Quatschmacher is a top chap and super helpful - there, I’ve said it. Zach Rizer did do a FI video but it was well pre version 3 and quite superficial (that’s not a criticism, mind. An I n depth video about the F I would be about five hours long).
  14. I wasn’t aware of that particular metaphor - that’s in my head now 😖 😛
  15. Lawsuit era?
  16. I don’t know about the bass, but with the short blond hair he looks like the lovechild of commander Ed Straker and Klaus Kinski.
  17. I loved that quote from Tony Bennett in the trailer: Elvis (to Tony Bennett): "I read somewhere that Frank Sinatra once said you were the best singer in the business." Tony Bennett: "Yeah.... but what does he know?"
  18. Funny, that has exactly the opposite effect on me.
  19. I shall definitely be giving this a look/listen. Elvis is a fantastic musician and songwriter as well as being an engaging wit and nice bloke. Thanks for posting that 👍
  20. Not familiar with this outfit but thoroughly enjoyed it. His bass sound got me at the first note.
  21. Norman Wisdom? ...coat.
  22. Precisely. There‘s a useful saying in German “auch er kocht nur mit Wasser“ - which loosely translates as “even he cooks using water“ i.e. we‘re all human.
