2. It's a shame none of the pissed punters you play to will give a sh*t though. Oh well, I'm sure it massaged your ego all the same.
 3.
Anthony Jackson spouts an incredible amount of horseshit. He's right to be worried about the demise of the large recording studio as they're the only places that can comfortably accommodate his great fat arse.......
Sir, I salute you. He looks like a great big bloated toad to me. Probably a great player if you're into that type of thing though.
 4.
Aye.. I noticed that. The bleed into one of the strings is awful...
I thought it came with a burgundy E string??
 5.
Why give it a chance? The same reason you would give most things a chance, so they can have a fair crack. You might have a fair point if the current editor had been churning out the same old stuff for ages but that's not the case is it.
I mean why does it have to be a gradual thing? Why should there gradually be less typos, less adverts masquerading as articles, less borring reviews? Is the editor so busy that he can't read the mag from cover to cover with a red pen?
 6.
True. But it saves me taking the laptop to the bog...
BGM saves you taking toilet paper to the bog.
 7.
You are expecting too much - I only buy it for the pictures.
All of which are available on the manufacturers website!
 8.
We've already been told about some changes that will be made but it's not going to happen in one issue, give it a chance. New editors first Issue IIRC.
Why? Why does it have to be gradual? Surely a new editor means a fresh start? If these "improvements" continue at this gradual rate, we'll have a decent Bass magazine in time for my grandkids. The current team of crack music journalists just aren't cutting it.
 9. Bought the new copy yesterday with high expectations. Thought it was still lousy. Maybe a bit better, or maybe I'm just being hopeful? That wasn't actually an interview with Flea, it was just an advert, so you can tear that out. Is it that difficult to but a load of guitar magazines, read them, coipy the good bits and apply it to bass? Yes, a review can be entertaining and informative. Currently, they are neither. There are a number of posters on here that are both entertaining a informative. Sling them a few quid.
 10. You mean I won't be able to make loads of money from playing music anymore???? Talk about turning my life upside-down!
 11. Dunno what the fuss is about. He's been crap since leaving PSV, did nothing at Chelsea or Liverpool.
 12.
I don't drive. Never have, never will.
How comes?
Just back from an early (6.30-7pm) set at the Water Rats and TBH it was way better than others on the site have suggested - perhaps the venue/promoters have learned from past mistakes? The supplied bass rig was a Hartke HA2000 and an Ampeg 1x15 cab which was perfectly good for my needs. The gear for the drummer and guitarist was similarly solid and functional. The soundman was helpful and professional and we even got enough bodies through the door to turn a small profit (which will go towards our next rehearsal) In truth, I really enjoyed the gig and the venue
The house gear has improved massively since I played there a few months ago. Unless ownership has changed, I still think they are a bunch of tossers! In their defence, I quite like it as a venue, and its 5 mins from work which is convenient.
 14.
Four strings are rare. . http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=190303438565
hmmm, its like a normal guitar but bigger, 4 strings instead of 6, and it plays lower notes than other guitars? How strange. I'm starting to think it may not be a "normal" guitar after all!!!
 15.
Where's the trombone hiding?
Am I the only person who finds this sentence funny?
 16. Hello mate and welcome. Just out of interest, why have you limited yourself to those 2 basses? It might be worth setting yourself a budget and then checking out the for sale section on here. You'll most likely get a much better deal than ebay, and massively reduce your chances of getting ripped off. Just an idea....
 17. I'm now taking any offers on these, either together or split. Anyone fancy a quality 2x10 cab? Really well built, can deliver most places in the South East. Or... Anyone fancy a stupidly powerful head? Again, can deliver. Be a great setup for someone just starting to gig. Add a 15" Cab and you'll have a monster rig. Alternatively, if you want a high quality 2x10 to add to an existing rig, PM me an offer. All offers considered! I'm not as desperate as I sound, this is just wasted in my front room and my Missus will not shut up about the space it takes up. I just want a bit of peace.
 18.
he picked up the cheaper copy because he couldn't afford the more expensive Gibson.

Doesn't matter. McCartney picked up a Hofner, not a Gibson.
19.
Hofner Violin? Surely not, as it was a cheaper copy of a Gibson bass.
Doesn't matter. McCartney picked up a Hofner, not a Gibson.
 20.
One step at a time, my friend. I'm still learning the string names.
You name your strings???
 21.
NYC pros charge $100 an hour....so £50 seems a pretty decent deal for me. For a world class player!
Mike, you're not to far from me. Fancy popping round and I'll give you a crash-course on "Another one bites the dust"?
 22.
How many people outside the bass community know the difference between a Jazz and a P?
Enough. I think the thing would be to ask non-bass playing musicians. They know enough about basses but not to much.
 23. If you think a Stingray is more of a classic than a Thunderbird, I will hunt you down and kill you.
 24. 1. Precision 2. Jazz 3. Rick 4. Thunderbird 5. Hofner
