1.
Rehearsal studios are so cheap
I dunno, costs me £18 every rehearsal.
 2.
I'm so fed up with this country being overrun with foreigners that I'm retiring to Spain
At least there you can get a plate of proper English food. None of this spicy foreign muck.
 3.
+1 I blame the EEC
Agreed. Straight bananas, butter mountains etc etc.
 4.
Never was this more true than in the case of Carol Thatcher's recent disgraceful behaviour at the BBC (not you, Sean).
Although she behave disgracefully with me also.
 5.
As the great Richard Littlejohn says, we're going to hell in a handcart...
Mind you, I hear even his daughter is stepping out with a darkie.
 6.
I don't like sneaking around
Really?? I think it's a classic.
 7. I'd crank it up a bit. If someone is so sad that they can't have a polite word with you prior to going to the council, then they should have their face torn off by rabid dogs. Either that or a polite letter through your neighbours doors?
 8. I'm no racist, but none of this would have happened under Hitler.
 9.
I suppose there's also nothing like doing the following after a tough day at work: A. Viewing other people having a tough day. B. Striking a material to produce vibrations. C. Manipulating polygons on a screen with a controller.
You're right. Nothing weird with pretending your a wizard from the planet Zordov.
 10.
For valid reasons, a lot of metal fans value the escapism that such subject matter provides.
True. After a tough day at work there's nothing I like more that slaying an imaginary dragon and taking a dump in a church yard.
 11.
So BBC, what did you decide after all the advice?
I think it will probably happen, but will be a long process! I'm confident we could put together a decent set, get gigs, and have fun. My biggest concerns are the investment in a PA and finding time. I will keep this thread updated as and when. I feel that we will probably take it slightly less seriously than some of you and make little or no money. But I'm happy with that.
 12.
Now let's hear the list of the bands with good-looking singers...
I'll start. The Pogues?
 13. ...jumpers for goal posts, the sound of leather on willow and Boney M riding high in the charts.
 14. I think we peaked at Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep. I think it's an age thing. There are probably some great bands and musicians around today that I would have loved in my teens. Life has turned me into a bitter old cynic who hates everything now. If you think all modern music is crap, the music aint the problem, YOU are. In 200 years time people will be having the same conversation and ranting how good bands were in their youth were. People cite the Beatles as a great pop band. Indeed they were. Listen to a lot of their albums in their entirety and there's a lot of crap on there. We forget about these though. In my day you could leave your front door unlocked and Bobbies were 7ft high, but you don't hear me complaining.
 15.
Metal does itself no favours image-wise, with all the stupid songs about dragons and satan and pixies and hobbits or whatever. It's only ever going to appeal to people who read fantasy novels and attend sci-fi conventions.
I agree. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind rockin' out, but when some dude with long hair starts singing about slaying dragons, or a dude with make up starts shouting about taking a dump in a church, it kinda turns into self-parody.
 16.
no... it is. i can't think of a really good album thats come out in the last 6 months, i don't think ive bought one.
There we have it. Proof.
 17.
I'd hazard a guess at South Wales and their band are called Godsticks and have a myspace page where you can see and hear them. Just a hunch, mind...

 18.
How often do you drop a pencil or pen when you're writing?
Most sentences.
 19.
By the way, although the Barefaced Big One is clearly better than all of you, I don't mind selling you one! Alex
When are you gonna have some photos of the Vintage or will I have to build a superior cab myself?
 20. I've used [s]adultfriendfinder[/s] formingbands.co.uk
 21.
Hey BBC - It worked really well on the jazz. I suppose if they were deleting it from the Precision (where it was pretty useless) they had to do it for both. I'd imagine they're made on the same, if not parallel production lines or something like that.
Yeah, didn't see the point of it on a P! Crazy. I find that without the S1 "on", my Jazz is just another bass (albeit one that plays really well and fits me nicely). With it switch on, its something else. Haven't got round to trying the 08/09 Jazz yet though.
 22. Was never into maple boards, but they're really growing on me. That looks lovely. My only gripe with the new model is the removal of the S1 switch, but maybe that's because I'm a frustrated P player? Did you rate the S1 at all OTPJ?
 23. Much better! It's easier to make money than develop talent!
