i enquired after the proposed uk pricing on the website. they said they will be pitching the full scale at £400 - £450 and the short scale under £400. apparently they have decent pups and electronics, i asked for an equipment list, will publish if i get it.

What was your first bass and why did you start playing?
barry44 replied to damo200sx's topic in Bass Guitars
first bass was a ibanez GSR200 and the reason i started playing was because my two mates left a band and wanted to start a new on, so i bought a bass!! -

Hi guys, following my recent move to the K5, i have decided that my four string basses are not getting a look in so rather than have them sitting around, i have decided to sell them. First up is my SRX700. the ibanez SRX700 is a neck through design in natural. it is a stunning guitar and is the one i always wanted when i first started playing. it has two open pole, high output humbuckers which can certainly cut through any mix. the controls are volume, blend, bass/treble cut/boost. i am at work just now but i have found a stock photo which shall give you a feel for the bass, i shall update the post with photographs of mine if anyone requests. i would be looking for £250ono for this with the buyer paying for his preferred courier, i haven't had any dealings with posting basses and i would hate to drop a clanger. it will be well packaged, wthin a warwick rockbass bag in a box when sent. Pick up is possible (& preferred!!), i live in glasgow and if anyone local wants to try it out they are very welcome. Barry i am also putting my ATK400 up for sale at £220 ono, again with the buyer organising a courier. I have previously posted it here along with a schecter model t, which sold. For photos of the ATK, see here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=22988&hl=atk since writing the last message, i replaced the truss rod cover but still do not have a cap for the selector. If anyone wants more photos of the basses, please let me know. Cheers, Barry

NIN have released HD footage, via nin.com, from 3no concerts on their recent tour via torrent for anyone who wishes to have them. they total around 400Gb in size and shall allow the more technical minded among us to edit their own concert experience. may be worth a look if you are into that sort of thing....

I would recommend looking into ibanezes. my experience of 5 strings came with swapping one of my basses with an ibanez K5, the korn signature model. i found the jump from 4 to 5 to be seamless, although i am not really using the B string too much as we haven't written anything with it in mind. it does get used now and again!! i find it very easy to play. so much so that it has became my main bass. i picked up a 4 the other night and it didn't feel 'right'!! the other good thing about ibanezes right now is that they appear to be going very cheap second hand

guys, i played my first gig with my K5 with the EQ02 pre last night and i am still smiling about how good my bass sounded. i am so pleased i bought this, it has made my best playing bass into my best sounding bass. i played it through my sansamp and opened up both pots, i never added anything to the frequencies, left them at zero. this thing was amazing!!! and i am still to really get to grips with it too!!! if you are considering, just do it, you will not regret it.

i gigged the K5 last night, via my sansamp, and i am still smiling. i opened up both the frequency controls to allow everything through and WOW, this thing was amazing. so, so pleased that i went with this pre amp as i definitely have the sound the playability of this bass deserved. if anyone is thinking of getting the ACG pre amp, i thoroughly recommend it. my mates were even commenting on the change in the sound of the bass as i think they were previously getting annoyed with the old pre amp in practise as it just did not kick it. i even woke the wife up to tell her how good it sounded, she wasn't as overjoyed as i would have thought....

i have just received my pedal after reading about it and seeing the bassplayer tv interview with JLo himself. i have set up in the following order, bass - tuner - hyperdrive - sansamp bddi - fx return of amp. i must say that i am very impressed, even in the dining room at low levels. by using the mix control well the low end is still there, which was something i wanted as most of the other pedals i have used have lost the low end, serves me right for using guitar pedals ( big muff and nano metal muff). really really pleased with this.

yeah, i got one for my ibanez K5, but haven't really had the chance to have a right good play with it yet. we had a little boy last week, so i will need to see if i can get over to see you soon, everyone well?
