2. Found this looking for my other sale posts. BUMP
3. SWR Stereo 800 Power amp Modded by Pete Cornish *Now £180 including UK postage.* The Stereo 800 was SWR's first power amp only design. 350 watts/channel stereo (8 ohms), 800 watts RMS mono bridged (4 ohms), separate left and right volume controls and LED dot bar display, balanced XLR and unbalanced 1/4" inputs, ground lift for XLR inputs. The speaker outputs have been changed from jack to Speakon connectors by Pete Cornish in the late 90’s. This has a fair bit of rack rash and the facia shows signs of wear. That said, it is in full working order and sounds (like all SWR gear from this era did) great. I’d much prefer collection on this from London N21 *EDIT* Now offering UK postage. Please PM me your email address for more detailed pics. Spec Sheet: http://support.swram...dfs/st800om.pdf
4. Trace Elliot GP12 SMX Pre amp £150 collected +£20 UK postage This is the classic 90's SMX preamp that I dreamed of in the 90's. In fact I bought one along with a Trace Power amp to sate my amp lust in 1994. I sold it soon after to fund and SWR, but driven by nostalgia I sourced this one a few years ago. It certainly lived up to my memory of what made Trace Elliot such a big name all those years ago. This one is up for sale reluctantly as part of a clear-out to fund a studio build. It's all stock and in good working condition and I'm happy to post insured or demo in London N21. Please PM me your email address for more detailed pics. Here's a link to the same pre which sold at Bass Direct. It has the spec etc. below http://www.bassdirec...SMX_preamp.html
5. Spector Legend 6 classic – EMG Pup and Pre upgrade. £330 collected Another bass up for sale to fund a studio build. This was my first foray into the world of 6 strings and a real eye opener it’s been, I’ve really grown to like the 6-string format. When funds permit I shall be purchasing another 6 in the future. I bought this from Basschat a couple of years ago, its very clean, with only one small graze near the strap button. Its had the pickups and preamp upgraded to EMG X pick-ups and an EMG 3 Band active pre-amp with sweepable mids. This make the bass sound very Hi-fi and makes it possible to achieve a great range of tones. The only negative is that it is quite heavy, this didn’t bother me too much as I only used it as home for practice. I’d much prefer collection on this, as I don’t have a case for it. I’m based in N21 London for demos/collection. Please PM me your email address for more detailed pics. 6. Sold! Epiphone Thunderbird Classc-IV PRO vintage sunburst *Price Drop* - £230 Collected +£20 for UK postage Continuing my radical sale to fund a studio here we have the last of my Epiphone basses. This is the more refined Epi Tbird with the 7 ply through neck and US ceramic pickups. I’ve kept this totally stock as I’ve not had it long and it gives the classic Tbird tone at a fraction of the price. It’s in virtually new condition with one small bump on the top edge of the body (where your right forearm sits). It’s also very light, having played a few Gibson Tbirds, this one is far more friendly on the back /shoulders for the duration of a gig. I bought this new so I have all the original packaging meaning I’m more than happy to post in the UK. Should you wish to collect I’ll throw in brand new Roksac soft case. I’m based in N21 London for demos/collection. Please PM me your email address for more detailed pics. http://www.epiphone....sic-iv-pro.aspx
7. Just sold Paul an Epiphone EB3. He arrived at the agreed location at exactly the time he said he would clutching a wad of cash. After a brief chat extolling the virtues of the basses electronics we went our separate ways, him with the bass, me with the cash. A perfect Basschat sale, thanks Paul.
8.
Strange, I can't see a reply?
Oops 😬 - sorry I have now replied. Trying to deal with a crazy amount of PM’s all at once.
9.
I have the exact same Tele but in much less relic'd condition!
excellent, this one looks like its been in a war zone
10. [s]Mid eighties E serial Made in Japan 50's style Tele. This guitar has seen some real action and as a result it's very "roadworn" with serious dings and knocks all over it. This is not a pristine example or museum piece! I like to think of it as naturally reliced and full of character Sounds Ok and plays fine. I have no case for this so would prefer collection from London N21 - that way you can also see the charm (amount of battering) this guitar has. Please PM me your email address for more pics[/s]
11. Firstly I want to make it very clear this is not fully functional! 1/ two of the tuners (E&A) have sheered and slip when tuning. 2/ I'm not sure the pickup is good or not, it doesn't seem very even across the strings. Now thats out of the way the sales patter…. I bought this to plonk around at home and to see what the Uke bass was all about, a fun time was had in the process and now it needs to go to a new home. Whislt it clearly has its faults, in all other aspects its in good condition and has a Fishman preamp. It'd probably suit someone wanting to use the bits to make their own uke bass or someone that can source cheap uke style bass tuners. Or as Thomann intended, to decorate your home/pub/office space. I'd like this to be collection only ideally London N21, but will post at cost on the understanding that I will not be responsible for the state of it when it arrives.
12. Stock standard Fender replacement bridge, includes the 5 screws. Mint condition. UK postage included.
13. This is well used and tatty PA amp, but as far as i'm aware fully functional. To that end if you buy this and find its not i'll fully refund you. This is strictly collection only from London N21 as its really heavy! 2-channel rackmount power amplifier, offering a 2400-watt capacity Bridged Mono, and 450 Watts per side in standard 8 Ohm operation.
14. Next up in my clear out to fund a studio we have an Ashdown ABM APM 1000 EVO II Power Amplifier 500W + 500W. This was deigned as a partner to the RPM-1 pre amp. Its basically 2 separate 500 watt power amps in one 2u box. Apparently the same amps as used by John Entwhistle when he was endorsing Ashdown. Not seen many of these up for sale over the years and it took me ages to source. This is strictly collection only from London N21 as it weighs a tonne! (34Kg according to the spec sheet, although it feels like 100!) Ashdown website blurb: http://ashdownmusic....ower-Amplifier/
15. Unknown P Bass body, surprisingly light. Looks to have been stripped and undercoated? Bought this here for a project that never happened some time ago. If you are wiling to collect or pay the postage. its yours. If it doesn't go in the next week or so I'll just put it in the bin.
16. PM's replied, picture added and post edited having given them all a good look over.
17. Thanks to everyone for the huge number of PM’s. I’ll get pics out/over to you tomorrow as I’m out all day today. I’ll then deal with the sales on a first come first served basis.
18.
No rules broken (well, one niggly one; the price entered should be the total price of all the items offered...), but this is going to be a sod to get closed, as ALL the items have to go, for that. This means that anyone looking for any of the still-remaining basses will have to plod through all the bumpf (a technical term...), only to find that the only one they were interested in has been sold..! It would be in your interest as a Seller to separate these, in my view, but it stands as it is if you really prefer; s'up to you. A shame about the price entered, though; we (Mods...) are always suspicious of multiple sales of the sort, in case anyone tries to add extra items without paying another ad. We're onto those tricks, anyway, but some do abuse in this way, and the incorrect initial price is one of the means of spotting this. Enough; as you were, and good luck with the sale(s)...
Apologies - I tallied up the total price of the basses (not including postage) as £3000. I assure you these are genuine sales and I’ve paid my yearly £20 for unlimited ads. Thanks for leaving it up 👍.
19. Firstly Mods, If I've broken any rules putting these in one thread I apologise. If you would prefer me to separate these into different posts, I will, but I just felt it would be easier to keep track of in one place. Having recently moved house I find myself in the unfortunate position of having a lot less space to store my prized bass collection. On the plus side I have managed to convince my wife to covert the garage into a studio - although that is going to take some serious cash. So, in order to kill the aforementioned two birds I need to thin the herd somewhat. Most of these I have purchased from Basschat and so it feels only right to offer them up here first. This is the first batch of Basses I'm going to sell over the coming weeks, but expect many more basses, guitars, amps, pedals and other titbits to follow. For anyone wanting more pictures please PM me with your email address and I'll send you some. *EDIT - I have edited some of the descriptions where shown having taken the pictures and given the guitars a close inspection. *SOLD* - [s]Hohner B2ADB-BK Headless Electric Bass - £250 (+£10 for postage in the UK) I wanted one of these for ages and had to wait for a very long time for one to pop up 2nd hand. Eventually this one did, but the truth is I just don't get on with the shape, so here it is up for sale. It has come in very handy as a travel bass - It'll fit in the overhead locker of a plane and I can get it across the boot of my car with a full load behind it. On warmer days I've also strapped it to my back and cycled to teach my students. This is in virtually mint condition *EDIT - absolutely mint as new! - *EDIT and features the drop tuning key on the bridge. It has an active/passive switch and gives a surprisingly good range of sounds from the two humbuckers. It'll do a fairly meaty P impression with the front pickup soloed or more out-of-phase Jazz type tones with the pair on. You can then tweak away with the EQ on the Pre amp. This one comes with a Warwick soft case which protects the bass perfectly. [/s] *SOLD* [s]Epiphone Rivoli cherry burst- £500 (+£15 for postage in the UK) I got this a few years back when I wanted to try out a Mudbucker. This is the mid-nineties re-issue of the the classic 60's Rivoli; 1995 I believe. Its 30" scale length with the big 335 style semi hollow style body. This was built in Japan and that shows as the construction is really good. The tuners are sturdy and hold tuning well and the hardware feels solid unlike a lot of Epiphones I've played. Sound wise it nails the 60's beat bass sound, think the Kinks / the Coral. This comes with the original Epiphone branded hard case. On the negative side the previous owner has added a few knocks on the back of the neck which they have subsequently coloured in with a black marker! this doesn't effect the playability, but just wanted to give full disclosure. *EDIT - Having given it a very stringent looked it over, the body is unblemished. I've also noticed it is wearing a sexy set of short scale Labella flats EDIT![/s] SOLD [s]Epiphone EB3 Limited Edition Custom Shop SS - £220 (+£15 for postage in the UK) Another experiment with Mudbucker style basses resulted in me buying this EB3 reissue. This is a close replica of the 60's EB3 being that its 30" scale and has a pickup selector that looks the Gibson "choke". It's a decent playing bass and gets really close to the Andy Fraser in Free, Jack Bruce in Cream tone. I would say like all EB3's it does suffer from some degree of neck dive and that perhaps makes it better for seated playing although I'm sure if you moved the strap button you could get it to balance better whist standing. This is also clean as a whistle and nicely set up. *EDIT - The case is also in very good condition with keys[/s] *Withdrawn will re-list separately* Squier Classic Vibe 60's Jazz Bass - £280 (+£15 for postage in the UK) This is the 1st incarnation of the CV Jazz in timeless Olympic white and tort, perfect to unleash your inner Joe Dart! Sales patter aside, they CV's really are as good as people say, as a result I have had every one of the bass range and a few of the guitars at one point or other; they have all been exceptional instruments easily on a par with many Fenders I've played. As I have a couple of other Jazz basses this has been sat virtually unplayed since I bought it, so it is in mint condition. *EDIT - I have now given this a very good look over and there are 3 small dinks on the body! I can provide pics on request. EDIT* It also has a rather lovely flamey neck, which I'll try to show in the pics. It's currently strung with a nice set of barely broken in Labella flats, but I'll happily keep those and give you a fresh set of rounds if you'd prefer. Unfortunately I don't have a case for this so I'm not keen on postage, but if it's a deal breaker I can try to source a bass box. *Withdrawn will re-list separately* Warwick Infinity NT5 2001 - £1750 - Not willing to post! This was to be the answer to my dreams when I bought it from Denmark street new in 2001. I've cherished it since, loveingly stroking and waxing it from time to time - Cue "Love T.K.O." by Teddy Pendergrass. This was hand built in Germany and is as high spec as you'd expect from Warwick in their heyday. 7 piece through neck, MEC pickups and pre amp with coil tap and slap EQ curve. AAAA grade flame maple body which is chambered making it the lightest Warwick 5 string you'll ever play, brass frets, Just-a-nut 2 etc. etc. I could go on. Needless to say it sounds magical. My problem being that it was just a bit too nice to take down the Dog and Duck on a Friday night. This is in very good condition and I'll throw it a tatty, but functional hard case. Due to the cost of this bass I would really want to meet any potential buyer face to face and let them demo it before purchase. I'm taking a considerable hit on the price here, even on what I paid for it 16 years ago! and the list price of a new one is astronomical. I'm happy to post most of these within the UK or I'm often in central London gigging in the evenings for meet ups. I'm based in London N21 for collection/trials/demos/tea etc. I will listen to trades/deals on any of the above (please feel free to PM me), but I really would prefer sales in order to pay for a good chunk of the studio. I also have impeccable feedback here on Basschat, please feel free to read my feedback thread for peace of mind: http://basschat.co.u...18554-noirbass/
