  1. Straight from a brand new bass. So basically brand new. Screws with it I think are the ones that came with the Gotoh bridge that replaced it.
  2. Clearing out bits or redundant kit. This is the original electronics and pickups from a mid-90s Ibanez SR885 5 string bass. From memory, volume, pickup pan, stacked bass/treble, stacked mid with frequency sweep. I replaced it with an EMG set up and remember being disappointed and underwhelmed and wishing I’d never swapped it out. I assume it all works still. Price includes p and p. PayPal or bank transfer.
  3. Japanese pickups- only issue is the cover for the jazz pickup has vanished! No screws either. PayPal or bank transfer.
  4. Taken straight from a brand new Fender Roger Waters P Bass. Immaculate condition, although wires may have been clipped a little short when removed, and no screws! Price includes p and p. PayPal or bank transfer.
  5. Brand new, as I removed these as soon as I bought the bass and replaced them with black versions. Price includes P and P. PayPal or bank transfer.
  6. Not sure what’s wrong with it, just no sound when the foot switch is engaged. The light comes on, but just no sound. Signal comes through when in bypass. It did work when I last used it, I suspect it’s a simple fix for someone. Anyway, not needed, so shall we say £40 inc p and p?

Why did the baker’s hands smell? Because he needed a poo...
  9. It’s those octave turnaround fills that always have me struggling. Very nimble fingers to get that octave note and return to the root as tightly as Bernard. And so consistent - super tight all the way through, with (according to Nile) it all done in one take with no punch-ins.
  10. And all to think that this song is the result of being refused entry to Studio 64, a couple of bottles of champagne and a sweary jam at Nile’s apartment. Oh, and a couple of very gifted musicians...
  11. One thing slightly puzzling me is that in a Bass Player article about the song, Nile Rodgers said Bernard plugged straight into the desk to record it (with the band playing live, together). Yet on this I can hear what sounds like a bleed of the track from some headphones. Any ideas?
  12. Glorious. Seriously tight. Can hear the flatwound strings clearly during the bridge - that glassy harmonic edge.
  13. Good Times - Chic (Bernard Edwards)
  14. Ok, here’s my stab at a GB v US team. GB more high energy, workmanlike; US, a bit more flare perhaps? 4-4-2: Alex James Burnel Wolstenhome Jones Lemmy Deacon Foxton Macca King Palladino Enthwistle V Collins Jaco Clarke Jamerson Prestia Flea East Edwards Burton Graham Dirnt
  15. I’m going to put together a UK v US team at some point. All based on bass playing ability, rather than any athletic or football ability, obviously!
  16. Claypool - the Le Tissier of the team!
