1. LOL! It seems so from this thread, doesn't it? Nah. Here's the answer to a lot on here.
 2.
I did recently try out a Stringray and it was lush but i can't afford it unfortunately and i'd heard that the Ibanez basses are good.

I did recently play a Ernie Ball Stringray with a 3 Band EQ and it was so nice. it was the reason I started to look into getting an active bass.
Maybe you should think about one of these... Probably cheaper than a SR500 as well. Just a thought.
 3.
Is it this one on the website? If it is I have to say the aged process doesn't look anything as well done as my new VT5.
I'm not normally a fan of relicing, but that does look good! That blue thing is dog-ugly though.
 4. There's also the Malekko Bassmaster, Flea's fave fuzz. Never gets much love on these pages, tho, for some reason - probably the cost.
 5. John did me a '62 wiring kit for my Jazz. He was very patient with my questions, and the kit arrived quickly and packaged brilliantly. Highly recommended. Neil
 6. Just received a Boss FT2 from Ivan. Top bloke and a first-class transaction. Neil
 7. Wow, just wow! You've got yourself a hot pair of basses, there. GAS now sorted?
 8.
Bass isnt an instrument its a frequency range and an arrangement tool.
+11111111111111 And a controller. Just ask anyone playing live dubstep, or Squarepusher for that matter, if their bass guitar is redundant in modern music. Look forward, not back.
 9. Hi, I'm putting my modular synth project on hold for a while - my bass playing seems to be taking all my disposable income at the moment... For sale I have a pristine, unmounted OSC303 oscillator made by DinSync. It's a direct copy of the TB-303 oscillator, made using original parts where possible, in modular Eurorack format. [s]£85[/s] £75 including postage to UK mainland. Cheers, Neil
 10. Hi, Here's my 3Leaf Proton, which I bought from Teamcoy. It's a great filter, but I'm trying to release cash for other things. It's had the resistor mod done (not by me) for a more natural decay. This was the much requested option included on the Mk II. As you can see from the photo, it's in great nick. It hasn't been out of the house since I got it. [s]£105[/s] [s]£95[/s] £85 including postage to UK mainland. I'm also willing to trade for a Catalinbread SFT, MXR M82, or Xotic Bass RC Booster. Cheers, Neil
 11. Thanks for that, Ghost Bass. So far, it all sounds positive!
 12.
I suppose one consideration is how you want to fit the series/parallel switch - push/pull pot or microswitch.
I've decided to go microswitch. Just seems more logical to me, although it probably won't look as neat.
You can for example add some bridge pick up with the tone rolled off to your classic front pick up, flat out sound, which sounds really good and is impossible with the VVT...
Getcha! That sounds like fun.
 13. Hey Tommy, Thanks for the reply. Sounds like you like it! Surely, I can get the soloed sounds with the standard V/V/T configuration, though, or am I missing something? Cheers, Neil
 14. OK, here's one... I have a Squier VMJ which I'm going to tart up in the New Year. This will include upgrading the pups, so it'd be a good time to tinker around with the electronics for extra versatility. I've already decided I'm going to fit a series/parallel switch, but what I can't decide is whether I should stick with the pots as is, or whether I should go for the 62 Jazz set-up - in other words, stacked tone and volume pots for each pickup. I'll be using the bass for all kinds of music, from rock to reggae and funk and back again. Would putting in the 62 set-up be worth it? Are the extra tones you get that usable, or do the hassle and cost outweigh these? Are the stacked knobs a hassle onstage, for that matter? Any other cons? I'd appreciate your feedback, guys and gals.
 15.
Under no circumstances take your wife to the bass gallery. It is a recipe for marital disharmony and they will not accept her in part exchange.

Regarding marital disharmony, i find it easier to consult and inform the wee wife because she has ESP. Extra Spending Perception.
16. How about using a Roland VB-99? One of the modelled presets is a double bass. Again, not a cheap option.
 17. Just got my Guv'nor from Tommy. Easy transaction; great comms. Highly recommended.
