1. .... and why use two mics for bass and guitar when you can do both with one mic ? (I wish I could find a link to the article where Gabe Roth talks in detail about his approach to recording)
 2.
From the Daptone label:
Yessssss ..... that's the stuff
 3.
I'm going to add a Mooer Pitch Box which is tiny for the 2 octave up stuff...

i had a look at them this morning, didnt have time to check out the samples!
The only samples I know about are HERE. If anyone can point me at any more I'd be grateful, because it doesn't sound like what I want so far. (Which is an OC-2 style 1-octave down ... just that)
 4. I lost track of your plans for the Lakie HB ... were you going to get a second, fretted, neck for it ?
 5. The full upright has left the building.
 6. I won't beat about the bush ... this bass is tatty. However it served it's purpose for me and that was to cheaply find out if an upright was for me. Downsides: 1. A huge chip out of the scroll, that will need a lot of TLC if a repair is attempted 2. Small gaps between the back table and ribs. Glued and holding 3. A split in one of the ribs. Repaired and holding 4. Splits in the top table (is that right ?) which have been patched from behind and are holding well. 5. Scuffs, scrapes and chips everywhere. Upsides: 1. A cheap way to find out if upright is for you 2. A bass which would have a market value of maybe £700 IF you were able to put your own time and skills into it. (Would cost too much for a repairer to get it to that state). 3. I'm not going to try to recoup the costs of the repairs I had done at MJ Healey Violins It sounds reasonable to me (bearing in mind this is the only full upright I've posessed), but would probably be improved by replacing the ancient set of strings. I have an unused set of strings (Spirocore lights/weichs) that I think are too long for my EUB, so we may be able to do a deal there. The top is carved, the back is flat, but I'm pretty sure it's not ply. The ribs I don't know about but to be on the safe side, let's say they're ply. It's a 3/4 made by Reghin (according to the label inside). Which means somewhere in Eastern Europe, can't remember where. Age ... really not sure, but given the wear and tear, it's no youngster. I'm moving it on because despite still wanting to do upright, I'm not gigging an upright (not even the EUB) and I can't justify the space it takes up. I'm asking £250 collected from London. A shade under what it cost me on feeBay about 5 years ago.

 8.
You'll probably will want this moving to the DB For Sale section. I'm sure one of the mods will happily oblige.
Doh ! Missed that. Explains why I couldn't find any uprights in 'basses for sale'. More than happy for some moderator to move this thread. If that doesn't happen I'll repost.
 9.
Jimmy Smith "Give up the booty" (1977)
That's awesome. I had no idea Jimmy Smith did stuff like that.

 11.
Fat bass and super funky drums.....divine
Nice pick
 12. If I could possibly justify owning this AND my RA Deep 5 (much loved, but rarely gigged) I'd be on it like a shot. But I can't. Have a bump on me.
 13.
Bigbeatnut- try calling effectspowersupplies / stompbox
Oooh, that looks like just the shop for my current obession, thank you. MIght even go for an EWS Bass mid control, too.
 14. Can anyone suggest somewhere in London where I stand a good chance of picking up a pedaltrain nano this weekend ? I'd try Denmark St but I've not noticed pedalboards in those shops before. A TC polytune mini is also on this weekends shopping list if anyone has any bright ideas on that.
 15.
This is my idea of Funk.....
Mine too ... like both versions.
 16. That didn't hang about
 17.
This is sexy!
That's the stuff
 18.
surely the harmony setting would be the pitch shifted signal blended with the original?
I'm pretty sure from the name that it wil be a fixed half and half mix, yes. I'm used to blending in the sub octave at a lower level than that.
 19.
seen the mooer micro series pitch box? does octave down and its only like 55 quid on ebay
Yes, that's the one that may be disappointing. One report on TB so far, so it's hard to be sure as yet. Still tempted to order it for myself to be sure. But even if turns out to be free of tracking problems, (sounds alright on guitar on the demo video) it's still lacking a blend, and adding dedicated blend pedal makes the whole package bigger than the MXR.
 20.
small, but beautiful.
Thanks, all. Unfortunately the plans I had for an Octaver in that format have just had a bit of a knock-back, so the board looks likely to be completed with an MXR deluxe octave and a polytune mini.
 21.
My pathetically small excuse for a pedalboard:
I'm aiming to get 6 micro pedals (1590A format) onto a pedaltrain nano so mine will be somewhat smaller than that
