There are no plugins installed, and Chrome on Android no longer supports them. The issue seems to be that the site is trying to serve up Flash content to my Android device when it used to deliver them via HTML5. Safari and Chrome are still able to play embedded content on my iPad, and none of these devices have ever had Flash player installed. Assuming the site hasn't had any code changes recently, this was probably broken by a recent change in Chrome for Android. But since I don't have any issues viewing similar embedded content in other sites such as Talkbass, this suggests that whatever the issue is, it should in theory be fixable at your end!

This has become an issue again, I've tried multiple Android phones with Chrome and Firefox, both are getting a 'missing plugin' box instead of an embedded video. iOS works fine and that doesn't support Flash - so these videos must be able to play over HTML 5 but something is broken when it comes to Android!

£100 for a Wealdstone Raider? Perhaps the price is low because they've got no fans?

If you do go the all-valve route, you should probably look at the Ampeg V4B instead of the SVT. 100W vs 300W - not only cheaper and lighter, but let's you get the sound of pushed tubes at useable volumes. You would blow the roof off of most small venues with an SVT + 810 if you wanted those power tubes cooking nicely!

Check out the Epiphone Jack Casady bass too.

The small pub version of this rig is to get a couple of Ampeg SVT210AV cabs - cheap and light and takes up about 1 square foot of space when stacked vertically, which results in a tower of power roughly equivalent to half a fridge. Amp-wise I would recommend the Tech21 VT Bass amp to go with it - not the Ampeg Micro VR that was designed to go with the cabs ironically, since it it goes snap crackle and pop when hooked up to two of these cabs! Or if you have a decent micro amp already just add a VT Bass pedal for that SVT flavour.

Big fan too, that track in particular! I heard an interview with Joe Dart where he said they bass used in that vid is just a cheapo no-name bass with TI flats fitted. It sounded so damn funky it made me GAS for Stingrays that I had previously disregarded thinking they were only good for that bright cutting agressive twangy sound. I picked up a Sandberg Basic from here that has the MM pickup just slightly further north of the Stingray position, and with the mids boosted to give it some honk, it sounds pretty close - now whenever I'm bored I find myself picking up this bass and playing this track! (poorly, I need to learn it properly!)

Get the measurement from the center of the pickup to a reference point such as the bridge (harder since the saddles are staggered), nut, or 12th fret on a real Stingray. Then divide by 34 and multiply by 30 and you should get the equivalent distance for a 30" scale bass.

I would build one with an MM in the sweet spot and a pair of Jazz pups either side - you should be able to achieve a 70s position for the bridge pickup!

The Zoom B1on is a good buy - £40 gets you 100 effects (including decent models of the Bass Big Muff for fuzz and BB Preamp for overdrive), tuner, looper, drum machine, and headphone practice unit with aux in.

Chrome disabled support for Adobe Flash a long time ago, Flash should no longer be required to play YouTube videos. This seems to be a recent breaking change in either the site or Chrome for Android. It doesn't work on my Android phone but I can see the videos on my iPad in both Chrome and Safari (neither devices have Flash installed).

Try and swap that Mad Professor Blueberry out for the Bearfoot version too!

The B1on requires you to press both pedals at once to go into bypass, which can be tricky, you might change patch by mistake. The B3 requires you to hold a button down which is not ideal... I've not used an MS-60B, but I think you can stomp it on and off and hook up an extra patch up/down switch (I have seen some in the post-your-pedalboard threads on Talkbass). Workarounds though are to either set up a blank patch, or use an external bypass looper!

On a budget you'd be hard pressed to do better than a Boss ODB-3 and an EHX Bass Big Muff if it's fuzz you're after rather than light overdrive - for which I would steer you to a Hardwire CM-2, EHX Glove or Bass Soul Food.. the Joyo Pure Sky is also an option, supposed to be a Timmy clone with more bass!
