BTW the logo on my BergNV412 doesn't look blue in person, no idea why it appears that way in the picture ?

I've wanted one for ages but have always shied away from the weight. Yes it's big and heavy but the tone is awesome! The castors really make a big difference.
so I don't subscribe to the 4 ohm is better than 8 ohm debate
I don't think I was taking part in any such debate but wouldn't it make sense to buy a cab that matches your amp and gives most power?(Assuming you are after a single cab option) In fact if I wanted a single Epi410 I would get an 8ohm because the Puma puts 1000w into 8ohm and 500 into 4 ohm.
-
What amp are you planning to use? The Epi doesn't sound great with all amps IME.I would get a series 1 4 ohm cab unless you have a big amp to push at 8ohms. The later ones can be heavy too I hear. I've had a fantastic deep big tone with the UL410 using a QSC poweramp and EBSpre, also sounded great with a Markbass LM11 but not so good with my Puma or Glockenklang or Aguilar DB750. Havent heard the 410 Tecamp but I have a M212 and S210 and have owned (briefly) a L610 and a L115. I think they are very good cabs, very light and can take a load of power. Very modern sounding and probably a bit clearer than the Epi but not as naturally deep sounding as the Epi.

I just bought these Tecamp cabs and am really sorry to have to move them so fast but I have spent a fortune recently and my latest Cab purchase makes these redundant....... I have two S210's but I'm keeping one unless someone really wants the pair and has something quality and light to trade.(I can't take a NV412 everywhere) See www.tecamp.de for details. I bought the S210 from the guitarguitar sale and I would just like my money back so... Collected in MK preferred but may drive an hour or so. Thanks

Just bought a Berg NV412 so selling nearly everything else! Two BagEnd S15D cabs....very rare in the UK and very popular rig in the US. 8ohm each 1x15 cabs weigh 44lbs. One has speakon and 1/4" , the other just 1/4" . Ashdown ABM EVO500 head made in UK and in great shape. No speakon connectors.SOLD I'd like to sell these BagEnds as a pair because I waited literally years to find the second one and they are great as a pair. £600 for the pair! Collection in MIlton Keynes area preferred. Can't ship but may drive an hour or so. Thanks.

I've tried everything too and have been frustrated by the lack of punch of my Puma1000. I was about to give up but a visit to BassDirect and trying everything Mark has !(Sorry!) led me to this.......... I tried the Berg with the TC heads (all of them) but it sounded best through my Puma, much to my relief really. My reservation about getting an NV cab has always been the weight/size but the castors help a lot and the tone is unmatched by any cab or combination of cabs I have tried/owned. This combination really provides a huge punchy sound - fantastic - can't wait to gig it!

Here's another 'pointless' review for you........having bought and paid for a new Compact a few months ago. I never gigged the cab but I don't think that should be necessary to get a fair idea if you would like it. Also while I accept that speakers do 'wear in' I don't think the sound would have changed enough to change my mind. I was very impressed by the weight of the cab and disappointed by everything else. I discussed the tone I wanted in advance but the cab was not really in the ballpark I wanted. Fair enough. Frankly even if it had sounded great I felt the finish on the cab was amatuer and the handle looked and felt cheap - worked OK. One of the corner covers wasn't screwed flush against the cab. The look and feel of a cab is important to me as part of the package and I would have moved the cab on on the strength of that alone. I sold it on privately and did not contact Alex. People may think I should have but I had read a defence by Alex of one of his cabs around that time and I thought he had made excuses rather than accept what the guy was saying and take it on board. That put me off as frankly I just can't be arsed and there are plenty other options to choose from.

The RS410 cab has my perfect tone - too heavy for me but seriously big, deep and punchy! Played it twice now and it is a great cab. I tried the 212 but the finish was like sandpaper! I was scared of putting anything near it. They are getting a new finish now, like the 410, so that would make a difference to me. Sounded fine but nothing like the 410, also a bit heavy and bulky for me (wimp I know!) The heads are right up my street tone wise and if I didn't have a nice Tecamp head I would seriously be looking at the Staccato.

Woah! Not a tube guy but that is cool.

Hi Just posted this on Talkbass but worth a cut and paste IMHO Last week I was visiting BassDirect and I and a couple of others were playing through various Berg cabs and Mark also plugged in the RS410 from TC electronic. I have Gas for a Berg NV412 and as you might expect it sounded huge with my Puma 1000 head (only using one side!)but it is a heavy cab. I was amazed at the volume and deep loud tone that the RS410 produced, tone-wise it reminded me of the NV412!Also its a 8ohm cab ? We played the Staccato head, my Puma and also a Shuttle9 head through it. I have never really taken to the tone of the Shuttle amps, they have always sounded a bit thin when flat IMO. The Shuttle9 was HUGE with the RS410 with EQ flat but the Deep switch engaged. In fact all the amps sounded fantastic with that cab if you like a deep punchy tone. Mark is getting more RS210 and212 cabs soon so we couldn't try them but the RS410 is different according to him. It is a heavy cab (80lbs) and I think it would be awkward to move around although I didn't lift or move it on the day. Maybe I'll get a NV412 as the castors make it potentailly easier to move than a lot of smaller cabs. The TC RS410 is really worth looking at for a deep punchy and loud cab IMO.
