It's not necessarily to do with the anagram, I've been feeling this was about the QC for a while but decided to stick it out for a while with the QC. It's great but underused features why. Its almost like I just want less stuff haha The QC is amazing but probably overly complicated for my needs and with some effects I struggle to get the sounds I want or find how some of them interact with my basses I just can't get the sounds I expect from them. Most notably from the filters. It would be to free up some cash and either at some point go with an anagram or actually just buy a few nice pedals and a tuner.. the Anagram would probably make sense due to the range of drives and also the extra effects that I would use sporadically. I've got a whammy, a phaser and an aftershock already sitting in boxes that all do the job. Would maybe opt for a Dunlop Chancellor Wah, MXR vintage bass octave, possibly a comp to add to that but then I love the clean set up of the QC and dislike my OCD with builinf pedalboards. Let's face it I can do pretty much all my gigs with my bass, tuner and sansamp.

Very much considering selling my QC, if I can get the right price. I use a patch with a compressor, drive, delay and a phaser for most live stuff I do and then a patch that I use fro practice. It does seem crazy to me that I'm using so little of its potential. It does sound amazing though but I watched the IMA video and some of the things he mentioned were things I felt about the QC.

Got the standard 45-125 Super Brights on my LT5 now! I love these strings, very much more flexible and respond better to how you're playing to what I was using. They've completely opened up the sound on my Spector. The bass now sings, where it sounded a bit stiff and dead. The B string is so clear and articulate now. Easier on the hands too, which I suppose is from not having to pull the sound out of the bass so much!

Very tempting this Anagram. I use very little of the QC processing and use it mainly for effects but live in the hope that parallax gets ported into it soon The Anagram is perfect for my needs but I have a QC and don't think I cam be bothered with the effort of selling the QC to a guitarist!

I should mention that for a while I have had an issue with my playing my LT5 recently. Both standing up at gigs and sitting down practicing. It was like I was constantly fighting against the bass and could not get comfortable with it... honestly it was exhausting. I think this was probably due to my body and generally being exhausted from being a dad to a toddler and a bass player that has spent twenty plus years in vans and tour busses (it seems since I turned 40 it's all been catching up with me physically) Anyway... I switched the strap around from a Mono padded one with dunlop straplocks to a wide leather Levy one with just rubber strap stoppers. Couldn't believe the difference, don't know if itsbetter weight distribution or if the strap not being on straplocks has slightly shifted they way the bass hands on my body. Played a wedding gig on Saturday. Felt absolutely fine all gig. Only downside was I picked up a bloody virus at it!

Yeah I know that issue of the string being too close to the pickup. It's not that unfortunately but westside distribution are being very accommodating and swapping the sets for me, so all on course to be sorted.

I'm not sure about where Hartke is stocked but they are distributed by Hal Leonard here and it seems they have their own online store which I think might be called musicroom, could be wrong or it could maybe have been part of Samson Tech. I am a Hartke artist and I think my rig came from somewhere within the UK, when I needed a replacement amp they shipped it to me within 24 hours (turned out it was just the valve going)! Great amps and cabs. Really reliable (even with the dodgy tube it still sounded fine). The clarity is incredible, great for live gigs and I never feel the need to engage the tweeter to get the definition.

Yep. Think the string taper is too long on the string. Same across more stingray and alpher but not as obvious on the stingray! Something to so with the taper being too close to the the pickup, so it picks up overtones or something along those lines.. Hopefully I'll get to swap the sets.im If not they'll be used on my warwicks and 4 string basses!

Anyone ever use tapered B strings on thier spector? Just out a set on my LT5 today and the low b sounds like it's going through a harmonizer and not in a good way! Never knew this was a thing. Luckily my I have a Dunlop artist deal so hoping I can just exchange the other 8 sets I have!! 😅

I do like the body shape! It reminds me of a cross between a Ken Smith and a Hofner.

If this was a product a few years back I would've chosen it over the Quad. Now? I don't think it would be worth the effort or make sense to sell the QC to buy this. I also feel obliged to stay loyal to Dougs new company and products since he has helped me out a good few times over the last few years. Just please port the Darkglass plugin into the QC!

I love the amps and cabs. The 410HL is an awesome cab too.

https://www.hartke.com/products/amplifiers/tx-series-amplifiers/tx7500/ Stumbled across this last night. Looks to be Hartkes new take on the HA range but completely solid state and missing the filters. Visually the design reminds of Acoustic amps and I do like it in a very retro early 90s sort of way. Will be interested to see how it sounds. I have the LH1000 at the moment, which is a very reliable, loud and good sounding amp so unlikely to change but would be interested to check it out.

Hi yeah, thank you I was aware of that. I think between various podcasts, YouTube my bass playing mates and basschat I don't really feel the need to read a magazine anymore. I think if bass player existed and looked as if it was from 1995 then yeah I would probably buy it for nostalgia!

Just bring back the US Bass Player Magazine from the mid 90s please.

I remember doing this to mine when I had one. Took a minute to get it back together but managed it eventually.

Yeah I read about this, seems they use standard size jacks now, some guy on the other forum measured them with another cable.. it doesn't seem any tighter fitting than my mxr. I'll probably stick with using the MXR lead I have and use the monster between the pedalboard and amp

Haha! I think it's a sticker... it is I just checked

Haven't bought anything from bass direct in a while but needed a couple of cables for a festival this weekend so ordered Tuesday lunchtime, got tracking and dispatch updates quickly and the parcel was delivered today at lunchtime. Even got a free sticker and a pen that my partner was sarcastically over the moon about... she once bought me something from them and she gets the weekly email newsletters 😂 But yeah, best service yet from them! Not too convinced about the monster cable so far but I'll give a go, if I get a summer out of it I will be happy!

I would love a straight up single p pickup 5 string, natural wood of some sort maybe with a clear gloss, gold hardware. Reckon that would sound and look thunderous!
-
I have to say I have a weight relieved LT5 and there is no neck dive... though to be fair I don't think I've ever experienced neck dive with a bass. You're either standing holding and playing or you're not 😉 I think the CST line look great. I can take the bursts, though not to my taste but I can't stand the burl. Looks like somebody has been stubbing out cigarettes in the wood. Flame maple, quilted or just nicely figured anything but that!

I would email Neural and ask them. I had a deal set up via Doug so I had contact via artist relations on a couple of issues (mainly my stupidity) and got quick replies.. so I reckon send thier customer service an email, I think if it sounds like a hardware issue they will have the unit to fix the problem. Or you could return it to the store you bought it from.
