Thank you Dandelion! Clearing just the cache did the job - I didn't want to lose all my cookies, saved passwords and history, and thankfully that wasn't necessary

I know that the system usually takes some time to update after you've uploaded a new photo to your profile - but I uploaded a brand new one to mine more than 6 hours ago, and yet the avatar appearing in my replies is still the two-year-old photo. If I click on it, I am taken to my profile which is, instead, showing the new photo. What's going on? Thanks!

It was an AWESOME meetup. A big thank you to Mick and Lozz and all the other organisers who made it possible. I loved seeing old and new friends and meeting in person other people I know from the forum. Excellent work, everybody. I'm just back from a Junkyard Dogs gig where we went directly from the bash - hence my delay in joining this thread today. Look out for a massive photoblog - with additional vids! - in the next few days. I've given my details to Louise and we'll hopefully be in touch to compare notes and exchange photos

Aw, bless - it was the exact opposite in my case. If there was one thing I had started disliking about the ex, before he walked out, was that his guitar playing had been relegated to occasional hobby, as opposed to the previous almost constant rehearsing and gigging. He had simply grown bored with it. (So it wasn't only me he was bored with, then!) So yes, another bass player (me) involved in a split. But I became a bass player after the split! Which way does that push the statistics' result?

And, Thumbs sound awesome. Still prefer the Corvette shape, though.

If all that happens, it's going to be absolutely awesome! I've been tweeting the bash throughout the last couple of months. We could do with a shout out on Facebook too - I'll see to it tomorrow (not now - better choose a time when people may be online, while at the moment most will be either in the garden with the BBQ or watching the telly or out and about.) Thank you again, guys, for your hard work organising this.

Although we Chiswick BCers are neighbours of sorts with Bruce, and often spot him in local pubs, we don't have a direct contact for him, I'm afraid. I would second the idea of emailing their PR through Maiden's website. I'm sure they'd be happy to help.

So how many of us are coming, Mick? Hopefully enough to at least cover expenses...? Would be lovely to see the admin team in full at the bash too! Colin, Chris, Steve, will you be around?

I do not agree one bit, and nor do my teachers/mentors at the business courses I'm taking in reputation management, PR and marketing through social media (of which discussion forums are a big part) and the internet in general. Not to mention that general common sense suggests such things do matter, a lot, in these "always connected" times. However, please don't take this thread off-topic by trying to refute what I say. You have your opinion, I have mine.

I'm going in any case, whether as Basschat's rep or not, and I hope I'll see you again there, Lozz, together with as many other BCers as possible. We'll make another massive BC meet-up out of it, one way or another

Damn, if we were having a decent spring this would have been the perfect excuse for a quick Edinburgh break. As things stand, I'm being made jealous - and tempted to book a flight - by my Florence connections who are basking in hot sunny weather. The festival sounds awesome all the same, so if any of you Basschatters are in Scotland, make a point of popping down there. And take photos All the best to those of you who are exhibiting or performing.

LOL feel free - how could the chronic complainers have their say about the LBGS if nobody slapped? They'd have to complain about their favourite retailer not being there, or the volume of the performances being too loud, or God forbid, they'd end up actually [b]enjoying [/b]the show too much otherwise. Thunderbird, AFAIK there are no age restrictions at the LBGS, so if your son is prepared to put up with the inevitable noise, I'm sure he'll be welcome. You could get him a pair of decent earplugs, to be on the safe side. I hope Basschat will ask me to represent again next year
