Having the proper tools does help .. just make sure you rout the holes out enough .. actually only split it not totally broken off but stays in tune just fine now .. well ask Will in a year or two !! Si
You really do need to try a GOOD passive bass! Alex
Well put Alex !! Not a fan of 'active' myself (EMG's seem to 'honk' a bit to me) .. Bongo I 'had' had an awesome preamp but still prefer passive (singles) .. my 2c Simon -
Cheers Will ... really nice meeting you (& ofcourse doing business) !! see you again mate .. Simon

Cheers, but still wish you'd sold me that Ampeg ! .. bet that would've sounded ace with the Schroeder (and saved me sh't loads of money but no matter (wouldn't go back now !)) .. hopefully recording soon, sort of 'live' but mic'd up etc in a studio .. will post on here when I get a cd ,, see how the MB rig sounds (will expose my shoddy technique ! ha ) .. can't wait .. !! later Si

Just had 1st rehearsal with Markbass CL106 & Classic head .. gain @ 80%, eq=flat, master vol '1' !! loud as hell .. same head thru Schoeder 410L but master vol on 3-4 .. even tho Schoe = 4Ohm & MB=6Ohm I guess the 2 extra speakers make a difference (or perhaps where you're standing if the Schroe projects like they say) .. still both very portable ! 26kg & 34kg resp. I believe. Can't really compare to other brands but think I've found the perfect rig for me .. time will tell. Simon
I did enjoy having a Schroeder. Perhaps one day I shall have one again when I feel like a change. I am surprised this hasn't had any publicised interest yet... How is the Markbass working out? Mark
Markbass head sounds fantastic (to my humble ears) but have only played it once at rehearsal with the Schroeder cab so far .. just got the MB CL106 cab back this morning coz it was being 'flightcased' .. will be test driving it on Monday but am guessing the speakers still need breaking in .. will also be doing a sort of 'live' recording soon so I'll post something when it's done .. let everyone slag it off ! lol thanks for the interest Mark ! cheers Simon

As good as new (bout 6 months old I think), never gigged or even used in rehearsal (probably on turned on about 10 times I reckon). Pretty sure it's this model .... http://www.ashdownmusic.com/bass/detail.asp?ID=6 Guy who's selling it is PaulMan (luthier in Huddersfield) .. think he's asking £350 (ex p&p) for it .. anyway here's his details so best to give him a call etc (he also makes fine basses & guitars!) Hi all, Can anyone help with the following .. I need a replacement part for my Steinberger XS Synapse but even the dealer I bought it off can't source it ! It's a cast cylinder that slots into the underside of headstock & allows for normal strings to be fitted (threaded thru then clamped down with hex grub) it's the E (4th) string one I'm after ... ? guess I over tightened it but it didn't take much ! cheers Simon

Went to Electro to test Hiwatt Custom v Ampeg SVTVR & came away with Markbass Classic 300 ! none of em are cheap tho ! Si

Only recently got this of WoT & have been hunting an all valve head for a while .. finally got one (after testing Hiwatt Custom, Ampeg SVTVR & some vintage Orange/Matamp) .. ended up with the Markbass Classic 300 but then decided to get the matching 610 cab .. so now no longer need the Schroeder which was the best cab I'd had up till now. Price £600 + padded cover worth £80 (will deliver within reasonable distance, goto go down P'boro/Essex at some point & go to Cardiff pretty regular) .. not looking for any trades cept maybe a Markbass R500 or similar lightweight amp .. here are a couple of threads WoT posted regarding this cab (with pics) .. Ive gigged with it once & had a few rehearsals. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...=schroeder+410l http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...=schroeder+410l cheers Simon 07796846935 (Bradford W.Yorks)
Its not the vintage version, but heres a pic anyway! I know it won't be putting out any more watts at 4 ohms, but like you say it should sound "bigger", especially since im just running it through a markbass 102HF at the moment. Sounds fantastic, but only for smaller gigs me thinks.
I agree with the above (Garcia) just add another 8Ohm cab for more volume (parallel with another 8Ohm & sel.switch on 4Ohm).. however, though made in usa by 'Crate' I believe (is that good?) & not 'Chinese' (is that bad?) .. I still think this amp is not what you're really looking for Jesse .. I've heard they are rubbish !! So I think you should get rid whilst someone naive like me really wants (to try) one ... so sell it to me !! lol (actually haven't heard a bad thing about 'm) Enjoy it .. I'm guessing it likes to be cranked ! Si ps. was really looking forward to 'cranking' that myself !
Any Pics of:- tiltback/wheelable 15" spruce ply sealed cab with 2U rack space = £150 (Eminence neo Kappalite 450w 8Ohm)
No pics as yet but will try take some later .. however Alex (alexclaber) said that this speaker is not suitable for a 'sealed' cab .. so might need porting but does actually sounds pretty good ..
