  6. i imported one from china it got sold on very quickly they look great but when you get it the build quality wasnt that great and the sound wasnt as good as cheap ones over hear
  7. you could always get a proper job working for the council and sell the bass and then change the rules as to busking
  8. i use a bass max with super silvers inovation and get a fantastic sound on 2 basses one a 1937 kay and the other a german blond
  9. get inovation super silvers of ebay awsome tone and slap for rockabilly rock n roll i have them on my kay double bass and my german blonde they take a gud few gigs to smooth out but play great
  10. i had one exactly the same it czeck made

  12. I play in the Black cat trio - check us out on YouTube. I teach Rockabilly style and double basses up for this style and I can also advise about pickups etc. Tel Bob on 07802 410222
  13. I have bought some really great gear of here and sold some aswell no fees genuine bass users and you never get ripped off i no this may not be the place for this thread but it had to be said id rather buy off a fellow bass player than anywere else
  14. i cant understand why this hasnt sold they are awsome for bottom end clarity and punch ive got the bg 500 2x10 combo rated at 500 w and any gig i cant turn it up past 4 on the volume it destroys the stage with power and clarity
  15. fantastic strings i use these they are better than silver slaps
  16. i got some cheap guts of ebay 21 quid each and i thought they wouldnt come to much but they sound fantastic i use inovation e and a and gut d and g sounds alot warmer and deeper
  17. i had same idea and made some for a mate they are time consuming to make but work
  18. what type of playing will you be doing bowing or none bowing
  19. all i no is i couldnt slap my double bass set at 7mm its way to low to get a pull on the string and i havnt got big hands bowing may be different ive set loads of basses up for rockabilly players and anything so low is very hard to play
  20. do you not think thats to much for fitting a new bridge wow i pay 50 quid for that to be done and i payed 120 to have the fingerboard shot think ill change jobs
  21. tc electronics bg 500 ive had and tried loads of amps from valve to solid state and this amp eats them all for power and tone ive retired my 4x10 cab and 700w head as this amp is better built in string compressor that compresses each string individually and gives alot of punch the 2x10 model is awsome tried a 1x15 model not as good
  22. the brown bass looks cool with the white it isnt chinese tho
  23. dont put them that low for a beginer u want at least 9mm across the board and lower them later if its to low for him he will need a new bridge you can always file them out and lower them and it depends on how large or small his fingers are so play it safe
