1.
Bump for a good price.
Thanks. That looks like my bass's USA big brother in your avatar....
2.
You mean it's not birsdeye maple?
...birdsh*te maple perhaps... seriously though, they're great basses, but a 10-minute polish-up would make a world of difference. I'm up in London tomorrow - I'm tempted to message him and volunteer to drop by and clean it!
3.
Dam I just bought a dj5 I would of have bought this argh
They're no law says you can't have both... make me an offer!
4.
Wasn't she known for her thlide guitar playing?
Oh yeth, I had forgotten about her!
5.
I must admit that I'd not heard of Jenny Haan or Babe Ruth Band, so have done some Googling - wow, what a top band, and a front person with a powerful presence and voice and unique style. What a great kitchen find! I'm just imagining how excited you are at the moment. Here's one of my favourites so far: http://youtu.be/jad9YFROKuw
Great performance. It did look like only the lead vocals were live, though - the guitar solo and percussion/BVs weren't exactly in sync. Interesting typo in the end credits too - unless there was an artist in the 70's called 'Bonnie Raith'??
6. I'll never understand why a seller asking for top dollar for something can't be bothered to put up decent photographs, or even give the thing a quick clean! A very pretty bass, though, under the fingermarks.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181337245552
7. Sonja doesn't start with a J, though...
8. Blimey, I used to lust after those when I was a lad. Back in 1976, one of the local music shops where I grew up had a black eagle and a standard Antoria jazz for sale. I took the standard jazz out 'on approval' - I wanted the black eagle really, but it was a bit more expensive. Lo and behold, on the way to rehearsal that night, I dropped it and knackered the finish, so I had to buy it. The shop owner very graciously let me pay it off at a fiver a month. Needless to say, it took some time even at 1970's prices. Even after nearly 40 years, the black eagle still looks good to me...
9. Still for sale...
10.
what's the weight?
It weighs 4.1kg on my electronic scales, so not that heavy for a 5, and good balance.
11. Blimey, takes me back. Whatever happened to John Wilson, who played bass on the original album?
12. For sale is my Lakland 55-02 Deluxe in Amber with a rosewood board, fitted with a Jeannie's white pearl 55-94-style removable scratch plate. Made in 2007, Lakland pickups and preamp, excellent overall condition, just a few scratches on the back that I couldn't even photograph, and a small crack in the lacquer below the controls. Also included is a worn but perfectly serviceable lined case - it didn't come with the bass when I bought it, but it fits well and will protect it during shipping. A new set of D'Addario EXL170-5SL strings have just been fitted. A really eye-catching and great sounding bass. Looking for a straight sale only, no trade offers please. NOW SOLD PENDING PAYMENT.
13. They're from the reunion tour - if they were from the 70's or 80's they'd REALLY be worth £7!
14. It's for playing 'Big Bottom' on....
15. Kid Charlemagne by Steely Dan. I'd have to find a band who would want to play it live of course, but first I'd have to learn it...
16. ...and on hold. Again. Sorry folks!
17. Yikes! I'm just the other side of Woking, and to think I was bitching about my fence being blown down.... I hope everything in the boot survives, and the insurance company is sympathetic and fast about paying out for the car...

Tony bought my Steinberger Spirit 5-string, and was a pleasure to deal with - great communication, immediate payment, a thoroughly nice guy. Deal with confidence. Thanks Tony!
19.
I'm afraid Jeannie's is on hold - sadly Roger passed away and no decision has been made yet regarding the future of the company.
Really sorry to hear that - I bought a plate for my 55-02 from him just a few months ago. It was beautifully made. Sad news.
20.
This beauty/beast now belongs to me. Very proud - and that's set to increase when I finally get to play her in a large venue on Sunday! I'm toying with the idea of adding a pickguard, but only if it's transparent. Anyone knows where to get one?
Jeannie's pick guards in the States, or more locally perhaps, The Gallery in Camden just made the plate for my black 55-94 in the post immediately before yours.
21. David bought my Letts Scroll bass, and was a pleasure to deal with. Great communication by IM, email and phone, and between us we managed to crack the problem of getting the bass shipped insured to just north of Dundee, despite some carriers claiming that constituted 'Highlands and Islands'! Hope you enjoy it, and lang may yer lum reek.
