Track from The Royal Scam. Chuck Rainey at his best. This has everything, groove, double stops, slides, muted notes and a bit of slapping thrown in for good measure, what more could you want. The whole song in my opinion a masterpiece. Check out this live version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylr2D4Pwn58
...And how lovely does Tom Barney's ESP sound?

Hi, and Merry Christmas! I'm selling a bass on bc and have interest from a buyer in Germany. Anyone any idea how much it would cost to post it, roughly? Jazz Bass in Hiscox case, weight approximately 14lbs (haven't actually weighed it yet). Is the Post Office my best bet or a private carrier? Or would it be better for the buyer to arrange a courier and me just pack it for them to collect? Also, buyer wants to use PayPal for payment, would I have to pay a fee to them or is that just when selling on e-bay? Cheers, Martin.
I bet you get yours before I get my two! Once they are here we can get some great pics up. Once again, I realise these basses look odd, but WOW do they sound and play great. SO comfortable and with a strange crossover of vintage Fender tone meets the more ballsy EBMM tone....but something brand new as well. I can see my 4SSS being my 'goto' bass for everything once its here.
Two??!!

Back Up!! Warmoth/nordstrand/audere Jazz. Price Drop!!
SisterAbdullahX replied to SisterAbdullahX's topic in Basses For Sale
Hi all, I have decided to let my beloved Warmoth, which I put together with my own fair hands, go. The Warmoth has a swamp ash body, maple neck with quite a bit of birdseye in it, satin on the back and clear gloss on front of headstock, ebony fingerboard. Machines are Schaller M4s. Pickups are Nordstrand NJ4SEs, Audere JZ3 2 band eq (vol/vol/bass+treble cut and boost/passive tone). Badass bridge. In great condition, only 2 tiny marks on body, one near the control plate and one at the bottom of the bridge and there's a line where the finish has come off the back of the neck. Will get photos of these later. Not interested in trades, cash sale only, dropped from £575 to £525. By the way, pictures here show it when it had an East/ACG02 preamp in. Will get more photos with the Audere in later.
CHRISTMAS BUMP. -
I'm selling my Hartke 4.5xl cab. It's a very nice, punchy sounding thing, but it weighs an absolute ton. It's not the kind of thing I really want to be humping around at my time of life. Also, it's more than I need for the function gigs I'm doing at the moment. I got it off ebay a few years ago, and the seller very kindly gave me a Hartke 3500 amp which needed repairing as part of the deal. The amp cost 75 quid to repair. It has now developed a problem where it distorts, even at low volume. It also needs the power socket replacing as the amp fell off the cab on a gig one night. Could be a cheap repair again, but couldn't say for certain. The cab has a few signs of wear, some of the corner protectors are broken, also the grill has the remnants of a previous owners name on it, but you can only see it if you look hard. It is a really nice sounding cab, though. I really liked the 5" speaker instead of a tweeter as it doesn't hiss like a tweeter does or have that horrible "clack". Wouldn't entertain posting because of it's weight so buyer would have to collect but it must be a bargain at £125.00! Will take some photos and put them up in the next day or so.
Bump. Still here. Sorry to those who asked for pictures, but it's 125 quid, fer fecks sake! Including the amp!! Regarding the amp, I've used it at a Chrimbo residency over the last few weekends and it hasn't missed a beat. Never displayed any of the problems I mentioned in the original post, but that doesn't mean it won't happen again so it had to be pointed out. Obviously still needs the new mains socket, has a few scratches and knocks, as has the cab, but look at the price!
For sale is my Musicman Sterling Black Onyx "Davtran" Limited Edition Only 150 made, and were all produced circa. Oct and Nov 2002. This is No 132 of 150 and has a Certificate of Authenticity. Never been gigged and has been kept in it's case for most of it's life, and still has the plastic film on the back cover. It is absolutely beautiful, being totally black, and I once strung it with DR Peacock Blue strings and it looked stunning! As you can imagine, it plays and sounds just like a Musicman should do. A collecters item, but really deserves to be played. I'm looking for around £1,650
"How much more black? And the answer is none more..."
Pah.... I see what you've done by using Black and White photo's with colour spot on the bass.... just to try and entice people in.... busted.....
Not to mention fishnets... I had an ESP Jazz that was stolen way back in th eearly 90's. Still miss it, great basses! -
Great little preamps these! Really flexible and underated IMO
Yeah, I had one of these 20 odd years ago, they're great and they don't come up very often. I think they were part of Jeff Berlin's set up in the 80's, and he's got one of the greatest tones in the history of bass. Someone buy it quick!
Having had both Hartke XL and Peavey TVX cabs, in my experience, the sound of the Hartke was more crisp - huge bottom end, but nice sparkling highs - very even performance over the whole tonal spectrum. The Peaveys I found to have a more low-mid presence. Both ranges very good tho. This really is a serious bargain, someones gonna be hugely happy with this.
Someone is if they buy it! Come on people, don't look this gift horse in the mouth! Friday bump.
I would go for this but i have no money until christmas, if its still up for sale then you have a potential buyer right here. Liam
Cheers for the interest. I'm hoping the low price will help to move it on before Christmas as I need to finance another purchase but if it's still here you'd be welcome to it. Have some interest now though.
Great price, shouldn't be on sale for long i reckon! If i lived closer i'd be tempted to buy it just because it's so cheap!
Cheers. Priced to sell. Got my eye on something smaller. I think this is a good price for the cab alone, but with the (albeit faulty) amp it's a very good price. Had plenty of nice comments on the sound of these two, and remember the likes of Will Lee, Jeff Andrews and Neil Stubenhaus were using this set up back in the day.

Almost sold but buyer had to pull out. Still needs to go cos I nearly have my hands on the Geddy Lee I crave so much!
Hi all, always fancied a Fender Geddy Lee Jazz and have decided to let my beloved Warmoth, which I put together with my own fair hands, go. Will get more photos with the Audere in later.
-
Hi y'all, I'll be buying a new amp in the next month or so. My trusty Hartke is ready to be put out to pasture. I need something that's small and light, powerful and sounds great. Narrowed choices down to TC RH450 and Markbass F1. Looking for advice on which is the best sounding of the two, bearing in mind the F1 is 300 quid less than the RH. Cheers.
Hi all, I'm selling my 1997 Fender California Series Strat which is fitted with a Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck humbucker in the bridge position. I used it for years when I attempted to play guitar in a band about 10 years ago. It has a few dings, as you might expect, there is a bit of cracking in the finish and the pickup pole pieces are rusted. The bridge was rusted so badly that I changed it for a new Fender one, it's so new, in fact, that it still has the sticker over the trem hole. The frets have a fair bit of wear, particularly on the top 3 strings, but nowt that a recrown shouldn't be able to sort. The whole guitar has a relic feel to it which adds to the old mojo. It comes with the original gig bag. Will take more photos if anyone shows any interest. Looking for £350 or best offer. Pick up preferred.
Bit of interest shown but still here BUMP.
