  1. Hi all, Just started sourcing parts for a Precision/Jazz build and wondered if anyone has any experience/opinions in Mighty Mite necks. Could get an unfinished maple Jazz neck and Ash Precision body from Musicians Friend for the same price as an unfinished Allparts neck! Was originally leaning towards Allparts as they look more authentic with the truss rod adjustment at the heel, but if I can keep costs down that leaves me more to spend on other bits. Plus, I should be fairly confident of the Mighty Mite neck and body going together without any fettling. I've heard that the MM necks will need a bit of work done to the frets, but was gonna get a set up done on completion anyway. Thanks for any advice!

  3. Cheers, guys. Yeah, Mornats. That's what I did end up doing in a "why didn't I think of that earlier?" kind of way!
  4. Hi all. Recently downloaded Reaper and have to admit I'm a bit of a noob in this department so may well be making a very basic error somewhere along the line but I tried downloading some VSTs last night, namely EpicVerb, CV Piano and Mr. Ray. Files are in Downloads, also downloaded WinRar as EpicVerb is a .rar file. Tried to get them into Plugin folder in Programs/Reaper on C drive using WinRar but keep getting the same "Access Denied" message in WinRar. Going to try uninstalling WinRar tonight and trying again. Any advice greatly received!
  5. Apparently gone!! Which of you lucky people got it, then?
  6. Wouldn't you just be better off listening to them first? Spotify them!
  7. Same here! Ideal month away for a young single lad!
  8. Cheers Matt. I'll forward on tonight when I get in from work.
  9. I don't have any details of pay or other work but if you want to pm your details I can forward them on and I'm sure you'd get a call back. Cheers.
  10. I forgot to mention, band based in South Yorkshire.
  11. Just had a call from a bandleader I used to work for offering me a month in a 5 star hotel in Eilat, Israel, starting 19th April. He isn't the bandleader for this particular band but said he would ask all the bass players he used to use in his band to try and fill the gig. He is looking for someone on a full time basis to cover all their UK gigs as well, do it is a permanent post. I don't know much about what they do over here but I have done the Eilat gig 4 times with other bands. It's in a pub attached to a 5 star hotel. Accommodation is in the hotel, all very nice, all meals, laundry, drink allocation etc included. PA and back line included too so only bass required. I enjoyed my times over there a lot. Would also have to add that some of the ladies in that part of the world are stunning! I can't do it as I have work and family commitments but if anyone is interested drop me a pm and I'll forward all details on. Cheers.

  14. Phone Bass Gear in Reading and talk to Phil. Apparently, his go to amp for gigging is the BX500 and he has a full shop full of delights to choose from.
  15. Bassist with 20 odd years gigging experience, vocals (lead and backing), reader, good gear, transport and good attitude looking for paying gigs, pubs, clubs, functions, deps, sessions, projects, whatever, in Yorkshire and surrounding area. Cheers!
  16. Trying to get pics up but doing that on this site seems to have become a mystical skill. Amen to that!
  17. Trying to put together a blues/fusion/rock trio in South Yorkshire. Looking for a great guitarist! Material will be covers of Robben Ford, Michael Landau, Oz Noy, Lukather, Scott Henderson type stuff, blues but not yer usual pub blues band gear. Definitely no "Sweet Home Alabama"s or "Mustang Sally"s. Looking for player who can rock out but who has the sophistication of the aforementioned players. NO METAL HEADS! As you can imagine, not proving easy to find the right player with these requirements! If you are that man or you know that man please let me know!!
  18. Good point! Sale price £450, which is what I paid. I then spent £20 on a nice tort pick guard. Trade price £480. A straight swap for a pair of Mackies would be great.
