  1. Sad news indeed, his drumming defined a generation of heavy metal drumming.
  2. A sad day indeed! Will put some ZZ Top on in honour of the man!
  3. My black bass, a Rickenbacker 4003S5.
  4. Marilyn Manson Golden Age of Grotesque album.
  5. So today, I went to one of my local bass shops, as they are stocking some of the Digbeth range. They had the DBC410-4 cab paired with the DB500H amp head. So I really liked some of the tones I got out of the cab. I even heard some of that Rickenbacker growl. The low end handled the 4th and 5th string of my Rick well. This cab had made me rethink my preferences of 115 over 410..I am leaning more toward 410. If this cab was 8 ohm I probably would have bought it. I need 850 Watts at 4 Ohm to work with my amp head..So the cab only being 400 Watt at 4 Ohm is an issue. Whilst I liked the amp head, it seems to be high gain. No matter how I set the amp I couldn't get ride of it, as a result it shows all the nuances of my playing. I did not try the FET mix function however.
  6. Not really, I think it would be a step back compared to my Ashdown ABM Compact 115. The BLS115 doesn't have a tweeter and is only 300w.
  7. I spoke on the phone today with PMT. Asked them about the actually weight of the BLS 610 cab. The weight on the website is correct. They told me it is so heavy that the only courier service they could use is pallet freight. Don't have many left in stock, the store that had one in stock didn't have a tape measure, so can't give dimensions.
  8. Thanks for the information and help guys. All taken on board. When I get home I'll look at all the various information. No doubt there might be some more questions.
  9. @Bill Fitzmaurice I can't find any 15" bass woofer that meets your requirements from Celestion on Celestion official web page?
  10. @Bill Fitzmaurice Which cab would you recommend for a modern clean sounding cab? Omni 15 Full Range or Omni 15 Tallboy? ( None vintage sounding ) Which Celestion drivers would you recommend? For use with these cabs?
  11. Thanks for the input Bill. That's why I tried to figure out how to use WinISD, to find a cab and driver combination that works well. That's also why I haven't purchased your plans already as your cabs suit Eminence drivers and Celestion aren't Eminence. I'm aware about them needing to match up. I guess I didn't make that clear enough in my original post. The frequency response needs to be low enough for a 5 string so around 38-40 Hertz. That's why I picked the BN15-400X, as it states frequency response down to 38 Hertz. The box size isn't such a concern, as long as it isn't huge.
  12. Hi guys, I am looking to build my own bass cab. I was thinking to use a Celestion 15" BN15-400X. I am struggling with coming up with a design. I wish to use the cab with a 5 string bass guitar. I have tried to use WinISD but struggle with it. I am aware of BFM website and designs, but I was wishing to use Celestion over Eminence. So its a case of either I need to somehow figure out how to adjust Bill's design for the different driver or go back to the drawing board completely. I was hoping for it to have a horn, or tweeter. Any help very much appreciated. Whether thats pointing me to different software to WinISD or a great online learning resource, or even a design incorporating a Celestron 15" bass driver and tweeter or horn.
  13. Hi guys, late to the party, I'm looking at building my first cab. I can no longer see the photos or plans posted upto page 3. Does anybody still have the plans? And could post them here or send me them by pm?

  17. That's a cool track, the bass sounds awesome in it.
  18. Um what does GAS mean ? 😊
  19. Maybe give Ricky Sounds a try, the 5 string Ric has a vintage and modern tone range. I think it has some really usable tones, surely somewhere in the UK had one in. The new pick-up seem to do a great job of equal volume across all 5 strings.
  20. Yes I've yet to learn a Motorhead song believe it or not! Yesterday I tuned the bass to B, C#, G#, C#, f#. Bass of Doom!
  21. My first Ric arrived this week, here are photos.
  22. It was really a case for me that I had been looking at basses online from Fender, Ibanez, Warwick. Then I got listening to Motorhead, was reminiscing how Lemmy is one of my main reason for picking up bass. My next bass had to be a 5 string. So I looked at 5 string Ric's online, found video reviews and read some reviews. So I pulled the plug on one. Big gamble, having never played a Ric before. But glad I did. I much prefer the look of the 5 string Ric than the 4 string.
  23. It's landed and sounds sweet. Excellent build quality, the tuners are something else, and the tones!
  24. Judas Priest - Redeemer of Souls album.
  25. Megadeth - 1000 Times Goodbye
