1. A message from Chas Hodges regarding the Chas & Dave show at the 100 Club on October 9th: "Sadly Dave's beloved wife Sue passed away in July this year after over 30 years of blissful marriage. Understandably Dave has taken his loss very badly and he hasn't the heart to continue gigging and with regret he has decided to retire from the music business. "But with his support, I shall be taking over the 100 Club show which will contain all the Chas & Dave hits & more. "Here's to my friend's future health & happiness. In the meantime, come down & enjoy a great show on October 9th!
2. PM'd re mags! Mick
3. Fascinating - cheers for this!
4. He is an aficionado of the G string, I believe...
5. Sorry mate - but then we don't need any more P basses between us do we!? PS Got the ashtray today - donation to follow, many thanks.

7. Good luck - hope the weather holds. I played up the road in Cowes last night at the Little Britain regatta!
8. Excellent piece o'kit. Use mine every gig.
9. Asked to play to 11.00pm at a wedding as that was when the taxi was arriving for the bride and groom. Peaked @ 10.48pm with a manic 'All Right Now'. Then decided to break with tradition and encore with a slow one. Just hit the instrumental outro of 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale' as the taxi hove into view thru the open doors at the bottom of the hall, with bride, groom and all assembled slow-dancing to their heart's content. Job done!
10.
Rainbow were a lot better looking than Argent and had cooler songs like Kill the King... much better band in my opinion
Rainbow weren't a band, they were a dictatorship!
11. Things could be worse - you could be the bass Ewok with Argent!
12. Form your own band! That's how I got round it...
13. Form your own band! That's how I got round it...
14. Dead right! 'Love Cliff Richard but please don't tease' Now there's a lyric...Kiss didn't understand! We have a Hammond player rehearsing with us tomorrow. Hold Your head Up is very much on my agenda!
15. We kick off with The Seeker - never fails!
16. Somehow the matt finish of the p/g doesn't work with the gloss of the body. For me, anyway.
17.
I use a cheap Samson Airline bass-specific bug and it suffers from none of the problems listed above. It's seen regular use from the tiniest pubs to 2000+ outdoor festivals and rallies. The points listed above as 'facts' are grossly inaccurate.
+1 for this! I wouldn't be without mine, secured from another Basschatter, and it's become a bit of a trademark. Good when you can't soundcheck, too! Edit - Look at my avatar for another advantage, access to the bar...
18. Is the second one known as a 'five-year'?

24. Is that you practising your scales, Clarky? I have to tell you, that's not the right kind of bass.
