4.
How's the heating Mickey??
Thaksfully we completed the boiler replacement - otherwise I wouldn't till be alive now! The water in the loft tank had frozen. Wonderful looking and playing bass, folks - BUMP! M

7. If you want a Fender, buy a Fender!
8. I have recently acquired a L1000 which I am enjoying. What's the diff between that and the 1500? I see an extra switch...

10.
I've only gone and burned my right hand in an idiotic accident!
Look, I know your basses are nicely relic'd, but there's no need to do it to your hand! Good luck... M
11.
always good to have drummers' opinions on stuff.
But only when they're asked for...
12. I thought Cowell's joke that they'd put him through to the next round was the highlight of the evening. A throwback to the days when talent really did matter..but yes, past his best now.
13. Just acquired a G&L L1000 with flats, courtesy of Guzzibass, and that definitely has a darkness neither of my Precisions can give me. The OMG pickup switch position, I believe it's called...
14. Yes, top man to deal with, as I did last week - no problems whatsoever.
15. I have a Seventies Precision and a wife who beat cancer this year - I thought I was the lucky one, but I'm glad to see I'm not alone. All the best, my friend!
16. My son, who doesn't live with me, is getting a bass for Xmas. Any recommendations as to a book or DVD that would be useful to him would be welcome. He's left handed, if that makes any difference. Does it? Thanks all. Mick
17. The Supremes & Arthur Conley @ Croydon Fairfield Halls. 1971. excellent. Followed by Cliff Richard (at first girlfriend's insistence) and Suzi Quatro!!
18. The one bit he doesnt show is the headstock! What's on it, I wonder?
19. No, it';s a Hamer isn't it? I bought the wrong bass... Thanks for this though! I sent a cassette single version of this song to a girl I fancied, and it worked
20. He was cool. Seeing him playing (I think) a Guild B301 painted like the Japanese flag (memory fading) in 1980 made me want to be a bass player. Thanks for the reminder. I tried to set up a Pretenders-style band, and one of the potential frontwomen was Eddi Reader. Always got at (not) spotting talent, me...
21. In case anyone's interested, Chris told me this about his Elektra a couple of years ago: 'It¹s a bass that was a favourite of mine made for me in the 70s by I guess what¹s now some (Westone/St Louis Music) music company which I guess makes Ampeg and they made Alvarez guitars the acoustics which was one of those lines. But they were also experimenting with electric guitars and this was a custom made bass which they made for me that actually has effects modules that you pop, into the back of the bass, there¹s a little flap. And although I don¹t always use the effects the guitar is one of those very playable basses which I enjoy playing and has a great sound. I¹ve always had it in my arsenal, as it were.'

25. Thanks for this. He played with my all time fave guitarist, Micky Jones.
