Finger style fell naturally to me, but some songs in the set lists of yore just demanded a pick, I used to get horrendous cramps in my right hand as I gripped the pick so tightly, if I focussed on my right hand to keep a light grip, I'd forget what I was playing! I stuck to pick on really simple bass line/ songs, Doctor Doctor by UFO for example, and eventually it became 2nd nature...took fookin ages though. Dava picks for me BTW, nice a grippy, pretty colours lol and the sound I wanted. My this man is busy! Just had his pearlescent silver P off him for a top price, new set of strings and now off to rehearse, was well worth the trip and Andy is a lovely fella!

Top Man! I too thought like until, until 1982 when it was announce a 1 off special concert at MK Bowl, featuring all the original members, including PG. It was the wettest, most back achingly painful day I spent in my entire life, but when they all hit the stage..I was in heaven!! I have a bootleg of the gig somewhere, a lovely reminder of a great day.

So if its a pre amp, he still needs some kind of power amp between it and his cab? He don't want to use his Marshall valve head, any suggestions as to what he should use? Cheers!

Can he connect such a thing straight into his Marshall 4 x12 cab? he's trying to avoid using his Marshall valve head completely, will he need some kind of separate power amp? He's asked me and I have no idea.....over to you oh great and sage basschatters

If you are playing acoustically, that fret noise seems very loud, but when you are competing against the rest of the band, you really don't notice it as much.
