1. Horrible little runt of a bass from Belgium that I think was on here a couple of months ago. Back up for sale - I love how "I should be asking over £1000"! hahahahahahahaaa http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/fretless-bass-/27069...=item3f06e47d63
2. What's restauration? - Playing it in a restaurant?
3. Nice collection! If you see - I'm thinking about you by sister sledge on your travels let me know!
4. Is this now sold?
5.
I dislike him too, and I have personal reasons for this, met him a couple of times, to do with charity events, but I won't discuss this further here, safe to say that to me he is a ****er and that all that fuzz he did in the 90's to save the amazon forest and the tribes there, was only a facade to attract attention to his stardom like status as it was fashionable at the time just like Bono tried to get into politics and all that. As a bass player I was disappointed seing him live at the height of his career, back in the late 80's at a Police concert in Rome, with a bass strapped on his neck but with a back up bass player playing real basslines, right behind him in the shadows.
I have to say that I was quite surprised at the amount of mahogany furniture in his dressing room when I was doing the load-ins and outs for The Police Not that surprised though that they asked for a police escort and for 10 miles of the M4 to be closed for them on the way out though.......as if anyone would care!
6.
Here's a new game for this thread. You post an ebay listing, and other readers have to spot the wildly inaccurate "fact" mentioned in the listing. I'll start: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/bass-guitar-westone-...=item3a62ad3d64
Mine doesn't have the distortion OR sound knob....
7.
I dont remember Graham Gouldman playing anything other than a Ricky but I assume if you collect you get to see him. I doubt hes selling a fake Its a bloody minefield out there, every time I see something that takes my fancy, someone points out a potential problem
+1 Just email Graham and ask him if he's selling a precision. Easy!
8.
It fetched £240 in the end, which I think was excellent value.
Yes, unforthunately a tad more than I have available at the moment
9. Top chap! Bought my Yamaha BB300 off of me, excellent communication and speedy quick payment! 's all round.
10.
There's a Westone Thunder III on eBay here finishing in 12 hrs, bidding currently at £165. I was having a little think about this myself but changed my mind. The Thunder IIIs have been going for around £350 just lately so it will be interesting to see where this ends up.
O wow....
11.
I don't know. It was £1.20 when I first saw it.
I thought it may have been one of those that had a silly low BIN and then someone starts bidding.... Having said that, I'm after this!
12. I thought this was a joke. It's a bass guitar forum.
13. they sell them here And you may want to move this to the "wanted" section.....
14.
Ibanez Roadster with hard case. And someone bid £1 on it http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1981-Ibanez-Roadster...=item27b835bff4
Was there a BIN on it?
15. Ridiculously priced Thunder Jet http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...23#ht_882wt_936
16. If the seller really "found this in the attic" then he's a jammy sod. Westone Raider II
17. Here's my current lot (until later on today when the Yamaha gets shipped off) Left to right: Yamaha BB300 Shine SB35 (surprisingly good for the very little I got it for) Westone Thunder IA - my main bass and the one I'll keep forever Ibanez St940 - the new favourite! All cheap as chips but I love 'em anyway.
18.
Don't suppose you can find out where it was made? e.g. Japan, Korea, Taiwan etc...
June 15th 1985 in Japan, according to the serial number calculator.
19. I've found the serial number - LM15032
20.
My bb400 serial is on the headstock, but it's small and just stamped in, so it's very hard to see unless you angle the light. Yamaha (U.S.) tracked the serial down for me with a phone call. Service or what.
Thanks - I found it on the back of the headstock, very faint in tiny letters!
21. Annoyingly, I can't find the serial number on my BB300 or any reference as to where it is on the 'net. In one forum, someone mentioned it being on the headstock - but it ain't! Anyone able to help me? Cheers!
22. I bought this bass as a back-up for a musical I did in December and therefore have hardly used it. Very nice player, nice low action etc, just not my type of bass. There are a fair few bumps on it but nothing calamitous. The worst is on the back of the neck where there are 3 or 4 scratches - see photo attached. Previous to my owning it the bridge was upgraded (!) to a Patrick Eggle sustainer bridge. Anyway, I bought it for £125 plus £25 postage back in November so I'm asking £100 inc. postage or make me an offer and pick it up! I will have a look about for the serial number if anyone is interested. Edit: I'll chuck in the straplocks AND the original strap buttons! 22.01.11 - SOLD pending the usual.
23.
Palladino?
Of course! I don't know where he lives now but the rest of his family are still in Cardiff.
24. Yeah I'd love to come - I've never been to a bass day! Can we get Pino to come?
25. Just bought a 5 string from Bobby, arrived quickly and well wrapped, super cheap and good info all the way. What a nice chap!
