1. Aguilar AG500DC £375 firm it's the 2 channel one in a stag case which is pretty handy as you can get leads and bits and bobs in it too really good condition , only issue is the little fascia for the operate light is missing which is purely cosmetic , the light works perfectly really powerful head, for me it seems louder and heftier than a lot of higher rated amps including my th500 Collection or meet up only, I'm in crystal palace south london Trade for mesa walkabout or m pulse 600
2. ON HOLD Pair of Purple chili pcb112s cabs with roqsolid covers really good condition really light and powerful here's the spec Celestion BN12 300X Neo driver 300 watts RMS 8 ohm 40Hz - 3KhzH H 49cm - W 52cm - D 41.2cm (excluding feet) Weight 12.7kg rather not split at this stage and like a lot of 12s 2 sound more than twice as good as one collection or meet up only I'm near crystal palace south london trade for berg HD, harmony H22,
3. If you wanna dabble with mics don't rule out just putting a regular dynamic mic on a stand or h clamp by the f hole, I sometimes find it more feedback resistant than my dpa , less detailed and it can be boomy but it can work Bare in mind mics will only work in certain live scenarios but if everything aligns it's the best
4. Anyone got or tried bergantino HDN?
5.
Thanks for that measured response. Back in the 60s and 70s most semi pro bands had no monitors, and poor PA systems compared to now. There was nothing special about putting out decent vocals without monitors, it was the norm.
But she couldn't hear the track , Mariah's from a gospel background I'm sure she can belt it out but if you can't hear the track what can you do, why all the hate
6. RIP Rick , an example to all us bass players , very much a part of the rythm section engineroom. Unwavering, great time great sound , the heartbeat of the band Always had a soft spot for his slightly shaky lead vocals too ! Gonna miss the quo
7. Boss TU2 ,15 years of hard labour without complaint
8. I find spiro weichs are slappaple in terms of tension but don't sound right imo
9. Way to low for a gut type E , if you've got an an adjustable bridge you could get the heights changed by taking down the A D G and winding it up , if not it may be worth spending even more money on a bridge as it could be cheaper than more strings .unfortunately string height is key for lower tension strings What are the other string heights?
10. Hmm, I was gonna say silver slap as I've found them a good blend with guts on some basses, maybe try a belcanto or other fabric cored classical string as it probably wouldn't have the sustain although it wouldn't slap so we'll . I was suprised how much tension a lenzner wound gut E has on one of my basses. Unfortunately it's probably a case of trying loads, I've been suprised how certain basses like certain strings and it can be a long and rocky road finding the right combinations
11.
Hi spencer.b, Any particular reason you want a Streamer? I only ask because the original Streamer shape is the Spector NS - nicked by Warwick in the '80's. They do tons of models in that shape and IMO are better value.
I'm thinking of a streamer cos I love p pickups and mainly cos I saw a few german made lx models on here and was really suprised how cheap they were . I'm am old school fender with flats kinda guy but sometimes I need a modern tone and I've always fancied a warwick and when I saw a few on here I thought I could afford one of these but is it actually a proper warwick? , hence the post

13. . Warwick have been changing where they manufacture their different basses (German, Korea etc) so the naming is starting to blur this is what I'm a bit confused about , it seems I can pick up a 2nd hand german made streamer lx for the same sort of price ( £700 to £900) as a korean or chinese made one and why are lx's so much cheaper than stage 1 and 2s, is the only difference the bolt on neck ?
14. I fancy a warwick streamer 4 string and I'm slightly overwhelmed by all the diffetent models , could you experts talk me through the differences Thanks in advance
15. I'm not to picky, I'd take my 66 p bass to any old dive , no stand just leant up against the amp My basses are there to be played
16. I love carol's playing and I'd rather spend my time listening to her or learning her lines than arguing about her disputed claims !!
17. Sad news , for me one of the heavyweights. Some of the so called bass virtuosos are just wiggling the fingers really fast but victor was the real deal Just listening to Db waltz from weather reports domino theory and kid logic from his first solo album, brilliant RIP
18. Do it, I always say I'm gonna do the same but never do My dad used to do a lot of target shooting and his mate used to say beware of the man with one gun, meaning the man with one gun is more interested in practicing than accumulating gear and chatting about equipment and he'll probably be a good shot I'm certainly guilty of picking up my bass to practice and getting sidetracked by set up, string gauge , etc and what bass I really need to get MY sound and also being on this bloody forum instead of practicing 2 bass guitars 1 amp , surely its all you need, saying that I've got 8, 3 double basses and loads of amps!
19. Can't imagine them working much as a pop cover band doing those tunes anyway mate
20. Location?
21. It is indeed Scott Lafaro at the peak of his powers, mind blowing. 1961 though (sorry to be a pedant)
22. Just had a look on ireal book app it's on the trad forum, look like pretty decent changes, if you haven't got the ireal book app I'd strongly recommend it (I'm not saying you shouldn't commit tunes to memory before any one starts!), it's particularly useful when you get handed an 8 page piano vocal chart of 32 bar tune you don't know
23. It's a 2 16s tune ( the 2nd most popular standard form after AABA) so if it seems like a longer form it'll be reharms in the arrangement your doing. I remember bluffing my way through it on a trad gig recently, all pretty diatonic but the 2nd 4 bars of the 2nd 16 are different from the first which is a bit unusual as most 2 16s only differ in the 2nd half of each 16
