I'm fairly new to Dingwalls but I've yet to see a duff one. I've not actually seen a Combustion up close and personal but don't think Sheldon Dingwall would put his name to anything that wasn't of a very high standard.

I find myself suddenly wanting a Jazz again. That is handsome Karl.

I would be wary, although I suppose that you need to consider that the wear is not from fifty years of playing, as it has been refinished a few times. It's difficult to be sure by just viewing photos. If I was keen, I would be making contact, asking questions and if at that point felt it might be the real thing, then I would see if the seller was willing to let me inspect and play it.

But, like you, my main giggin bass stays in its case.

Unlike you, I want my back up bass (for gigging) to be similar to my main bass. But go try them all and have fun.

That's how I ended up with two examples from the 70's and a 66. Gradually thinning back out again and now down to the 75 and 66. Glad yours is all up and running.

School assembly in 1973 and I think it was either Let it Be or Cecilia. My mate lent me his 72 Fender Jazz for the performance.
