1. Morning all, A new purchase means I've got to let my 6 string go - never gigged! I bought it in GuitarGuitar in Edinburgh during the Fringe festival in 2012 because of the almighty growl. It then sat in my flat for the past 2 years as I've never really found a use for it. There is a minor ding on the side due to one of tiny earthquakes that happen now and again in Britain that dislodged some things above a rack of my basses and left an everlasting memory. Otherwise, absolutley perfect condition, plays perfectly and have never had any problems with it, just needs to be played and I need to pay off my last purchase! All might be able to throw in a case. Rochdale based. [s]£250ono[/s] [s]PRICE DROP: £220.[/s] FINAL PRICE DROP: £200
 2. Evening, I bought a Streamer Stage I from the Bass Gallery last year with a set I was told were Galli Strings, that had teal tops. When they died, I phoned up Bass Gallery to replace them, they sent a set of Rockstars, which don't get me wrong - were great strings, but not the strings I got with the bass, and I have never got the same sound since. Does anyone know what strings these were, I believe they were .040's or 045's, and also a 5 string set. I'm using some Pro Steels at the moment that are just causing havoc to my action and my sound overall and need to get ordering tomorrow! Thank you to anyone who can help!
 3. Bought a Line 6 Bass Pod from Paul, very easy transaction and got here really quickly. Hassle free and buy with confidence, especially if you go by another name on weekends! Cheers Paul!
 4. PM'd! - and gotta say I really want it. Simply for being a kidney bean.
 5. 800w at 4ohm and a Berg, you have got me so tempted, it's just the weight (and needing to sell my amp first!).
 6. Evening, I'm looking to sell, or part exchange my Promethean P5115K. Just moved out to Uni, and new, lighter gear is urgently needed for future gigging commutes and long trains. This has been a great little amp, and I've never really had any trouble with it since getting it from DV247 last year. The head screws into the cab, making the whole unit incredibly portable, and means you can mix and match heads, which has proved really useful. Being a kickback as well was great when monitors didn't work and the various tone controls makes this a very versatile amp, which is very loud. It weighs in with the head about 24kgs I believe. I'm selling for £850, but I do welcome offers and for part ex, I am looking for a head 500w+, with a super light cab to match, for example something like a Markbass New Yorker 122. I will take a half and half sort of deal too, for example part cash part hardware. Specs:

500W Combo
15″ Speaker
“Kickback” style Cabinet
Dome tweeter with passive crossover
6 band graphic EQ
Bass and Treble shelving tone control
Detachable head
High Quality peak limiting circuit
“Vibe” Control (from vintage to modern sound)
Mute switch
Aux input, Headphone out,
Balanced XLR output with ground lift, 20db pad, and pre/post switch Tuner out
Cheers!
 7. I don't know, I think Andrew will be busy with the NPG and Liv Warfield, sounds likes Ida's Sandberg to me, but I could be wrong, suppose we'll have to look through the credits for Art Official Age, definitely is Ida with 3RDEYEGIRL, Plectrum Electrum!
 8. Evening everyone, I'm about to start music college and in the need of a very protective and versatile bass soft case. I have a couple of hard cases that just won't be great walking around the city or on the commute in every morning. I came across the Gruvgear GigBlade, which I loved at first with its sleeve for a laptop, pedal carrier etc. but doesn't seem like it is waterproof without the waterproof cover, which doesn't leave me feeling too comfortable spending that much on a product that isn't waterproof from stock, especially with my laptop in a pocket at the front. I came across the Mono M80, which seems like a good case and then came on here and find everyone giving great reviews of the iGig cases, but from the look of the iGig cases, I cannot tell if they are waterproof or if I'd be able to fit a laptop and all other student-esque items in! Any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers!
 9. I'm guessing it'll be either Ida or Prince playing bass surely?
 10. Hi everyone, I've just come back from recording, which has fuelled me wanting to get my home recording act together and purchase a microphone for my bass cab, and maybe a multi-purpose mic. I've narrowed it down to three, the Shure SM7B, Sennheiser MD421 and the Heil PR40. Personally, I'm leaning towards the Heil PR40 and the MD421, but there are little to no sound clips of these microphones recording bass - so I was looking for personal experiences with these microphones. I'm looking for something that simply replicates and captures exactly what is coming out of the speaker/s. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers!
 11. Just bought a K&K Rockabilly Plus from Neil and it was a very positive and easy transaction, with plenty of communication between us (including a heads-up about gigging with it). Item was perfect and came with everything in the box, would highly recommend him to anyone! Be glad to buy/sell to him anytime - cheers!

 14. Hi everyone, Not sure if this is the right thread to post this on as I've only ever bought/sold stuff on here, but need a bit of advice on pickup choice for a '97 Streamer Pro M. I bought the Streamer Pro M about three or four years ago in a pretty shocking condition, the neck was extremely dry and it showed very clearly, the box that was supplied was chipboard and terrible and the lacquer around the cavity control is completely cracked, and the wiring was a mess, instead of being resoldered by the previous seller, being stuck together with duct tape. The electronics were resoldered, new wire installed and the neck waxed for months and some hardware replaced but for the past year it has just lost its punch. New strings haven't saved it, EQ or adjusting my amp, it just isn't the bass it is supposed to be. I've upgraded to a Stage I now, but I'm getting some work done in the new year so I have a reliable back up. I'm going to have a full set up done, and have the electronics looked at. I don't know if its the rewiring, the preamp itself, the pickup or just bad set up but I've seen an interesting idea from Andy Irvine. He's put a Jazz pickup to make the Twin J bridge (stock) a MusicMan style pickup and have a Jazz covering the neck position and it sounds how I imagine the Pro M should. I don't have much experience with this sort of thing and I am stuck between 4 pickups, and wanted a bit of advice on which of the four pickups you think would be best/ are your personal preference and why. I am predominatley a funk player, sometimes playing rock or jazz, so if anyone can say which of these 4 are best for that style/s of music, I'd appreciate it very much. Warwick MEC Jazz 5 Bartolini 59J Lollar Jazz 5 Aero J Bass 5 Cheers!
