3.
Aria Pro CSB300 (medium scale), in hard case, very reasonable BIN & cheap postage: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=260239543592 Edit: Bugger! Too late!! The jury's still out about the Royal Artist - beyond late 60s/early 70s JapCrap, I'm stumped for an ID! Bruno was/is a US importer, & Royal Artist one of their sub-brands, so it's likely pretty rare on these shores, certainly in that guise. Whether it's £250+ rare is very much another matter! J.
that aria was a bargain
4. cool, lets get going so i can get it
5. beautiful... that and a ricky are my two dream basses for the moment
6. bump
7.
What is the reason for wanting to use the PC rather than just sticking with the H2? One of the attractions of the latter for me was that it is trivial to get the recording from the H2 onto a computer as a digital sound file (which had been an ongoing frustration with minidisk). Wulf
i have been using one of these for a little while instead of micing up a full practise, if your careful with the positioning you can get a stereo (or dual stereo) file that will allow you to hear everything, and again with the above points, will stop a whirlwing of expense and time
8. and another pm, looking forward to having a read of this
9. Hello basschatters, just thought id throw in a couple of up and coming gigs to see if anyone is interested, my band have been working quite hard to put together an excting show and we will have a synth player hopefully joining in the madness half way through may,but check out our myspace to see if you like the sound of it all, unfortunately the tunes arent really a good representation of our current set (just having some new stuff mixed) but you'l get the idea, anyway, enough waffle oh and il try to say hi to anyone willing, but you may have to excuse pre gig frenzy plus i havnt properly met anyone yet from here! 15 May 2008 20:00 The Star Guildford free! 17 May 2008 20:00 Phibbers Islington ,London free! 27 May 2008 20:00 Platform 9 Guildford (not sure on price)
10. ah i would have had a go on this if id have read it in time, ah well
11.
I always found the Opto-comp to be decent for some uses but probably the least subtle compressor ever for bass, even on min sustain you can still feel the squeeze. Maybe I'm just not good at setting the dials up though. I've found that it is VERY good for acoustic instruments and vocals though.
the original pedal settings work so that the sustain knob acts as a limiter until you hit past 12, and then a compressor (so the instructions inform me) i dont know if the opto mod changes these parameters, again, havnt tried it out fully but might help to wok out exactly what the boss was doing before the mod
12.
The standard CS3 is crap for bass. Monte's mod transforms it to a great bass compressor but it does have that opto-comp squish rather than thud IMHO.
cheers, yet to use mine extensively yet but that sounds about right
13. this is all with the mod though naturally, i didnt get much of a sound i liked without, far too squished
14. I have found it works great and doesnt seem to lose much of the signal at all, unfortunately my head is being mended at the moment, so i have only used the comp through my studio monitors (which are good quality) and though it seems to be a pretty good sounding clear signal through there, i wouldnt quite be able to vouch for the thump yet (that you can only get from a bass amp anyway), hopefully i can answer that properly soon?

16. and you can get the pedal to mod right here on basschat from benwhite cs-3
17. I bought two of these (one for a friend) and he doesnt want it anymore so il try to sell it here for £15 posted, as i bought it mine was very easy to put together, took two hours and has everything in there, and the result is great too, great compressor for any instrument i think link is here http://www.monteallums.com/pedal_mods.html#cs3optoPlus cheers
18. ooh yeah have a singapore sling at the raffles- the most expensive and nicest drink you will get. and the night safari is ace there too
19. your buying a box which has two features, which are two different technologies, the aural exciter and the big bottom il give a basic description of the theory behind these aural exciter- this recreates harmonics lost on the high end spectrum of your sound, adding presence and clarity to your tone big bottom- this will add sustain and low end to your tone, without an increase in volume, and without compression, it allows your amp to develop its output more safely and will create a better sound with more sustain than your eq so.... you get a di box that enhances the exact parts of your sound that you want it to, you, and the audience hears your basslines with clarity
20. trade or part ex for a catalinbread tremolo (long long shot)
